the Cruyff turn doesn't work that well unless your back is to the person or if you want to go backwards and how often do you really have trouble turning and facing backwards in soccer? The different moves are for different situations. This is more for going to the side to get around a defender head-on, the Cruyff turn is more effective with your back to the defender or running side by side.
