It participated in 60 various e

 

ngagements, including Harpers Ferry, Cedar Mountain, 2nd Bull Run, Antietam, Gettysburg, and Petersburg
4 Members received the Congres
sional Medal of Honor. During its service the 3rd MD Marched 1771 miles, traveled 2903 miles by rail and another 289 miles by ship for a total of 4963 mile
