| | How did they travel? | 12/15/2005 | My great-great grandfather, William James Clark (Will) as born on Feb. 26, 1838. He enlisted in the Union Army at Baltimore, Md. on Aug. 13, 1862 at age 24. He is from Cecil County and was in the Eighth Regiment, Maryland Volunteer Infantry, Company A (Elkton). My other great-great grandfather, William Francis Miller, was born on June 17, 1837. He enlisted Aug. 18, 1862 in Frederick, aged 25. He is from Unionville, Md. and was in Company B, 7th regiment, Maryland Infantry Volunteers. Do you know how these men would have traveled to the war? On farm horses, trains, or walking? | |
| | New kids in town | 12/07/2005 | We would like to introduce ourselves as the new kids in town. We are producers of quality historic fabrics. Our name is Traditional Fabrics, Inc. You can visit our website at www.traditionalfabrics.com. We have most likely already contacted your local sutler and fabric supplier with our line of Linsey-Woolsey. We wanted to inform folks of our existence and let them know that we are here to service their fabric needs.
Thank you, Hank Mocarsky, President Traditional Fabrics, Inc.

I'm a re-enactor currently with 2nd U.S. regulars, Vincent's Brigade. I'm not happy in this unit and I'm trying to find a new unit in my area. Could you get back to me about perhaps joining your unit (8th Maryland)? Thank You, Randy Valle@Hotmail.com Phone: 443-690-0755

| | Rifles | 01/23/2005 | 8th Maryland, i was involved in reenacting until a couple of years ago, with the 83rd, PVI, Co K (Strong Vincent’s Brigade). For work reasons i had to stop attending drills and now, for the same reason, i am getting out of it altogether. I have sold almost all of my equipment but still have 2 each, 1861 Springfield replicas for sale. They are in excellent condition and each include a sling and bayonet. I am asking $425 for each of the rifles. If anyone in your unit might be interested they can contact me at finkenbi@kuhncom.net if you could send this around to your unit members i would appreciate it and i’m sure someone in the market would appreciate it also. I’m not selling these to make money, i only want to recover some of what i have in the guns. Also, i live in the Carlisle area. Thanks. | |
