Dr. Joseph Luxbacher President and Director of Coaching |

Dr. Joseph Luxbacher has been involved in the sport of soccer for more than 30 years. He is a former professional soccer player having played in the North American Soccer League (NASL) and Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). He is the men's soccer coach at the University of Pittsburgh and has earned the "A" Coaching License of the United States Soccer Federation. Dr. Luxbacher has authored 15 books and numerous articles on the sport of soccer. His most recent soccer books include Soccer: Steps to Success - 3rd Edition (2005); Soccer Practice Games - 2nd edition (2003); The Soccer Goalkeeper (2002); Attacking Soccer (1999); and Conditioning for Soccer (1998). Luxbacher's soccer books have sold more than 200,000 copies, and several of his books (Steps to Success, Soccer Practice Games, Attacking Soccer) have been translated into Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Malaysian. Dr. Luxbacher has also authored articles on sport nutrition, exercise and weight control, outdoor recreation, and sport psychology and sociology. His soccer articles have appeared in national publications such as Scholastic Coach Magazine, Soccer Jr. Magazine, and Soccer Journal. He has served as the "Fitness Editor" of Total Health Magazine and writes a Fitness Q & A column for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. His most recent fitness book title is Total Fitness for Women (Wish Publishing, 2002). Coach Luxbacher was twice selected as BIG EAST Conference Soccer Coach of the Year. Joe Luxbacher is an inductee into the Beadling Sports Club Hall of Fame, the Upper St. Clair High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and most recently into the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (2005). He was selected as a "Letterman of Distinction" at the University of Pittsburgh in 2003

Each of our camps is directed by an experienced and knowledgeable coach. Additional staff members will be composed of college and/or high school coaches assisted by outstanding college players. Staff members are chosen based on their ability to relate to young players, as well as to demonstrate skills and impart knowledge of the game. Ratio of staff to campers is approximately 1:10. Brian "Bunya" Retzloff |
| |
Assistant men's soccer coach, University of Pittsburgh, as well as a USSF Licensed Coach. Brian "Bunya" Retzloff has previous coaching experience at the high school and Olympic Develoment levels, and is a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College, where he was a four-time All Conference 1st team selection. Bunya is a member of the Region I Olympic Development (ODP) staff.

Michael Bacasa |

Volunteer assistant men's soccer coach, University of Pittsburgh. Mike Bacasa has assisted with the men's program for nine seasons. He is a former player and captain of the Pitt Panther men's soccer team, and received the Most Valuable Player Award in 1992. Mike is a graduate of the University and operates a physical therapy practice.
