SOCCER SPECIFIC SPEED AND CONDITIONING CAMPS are offered during the indoor (winter) months. The camps focus on the development of soccer-specific speed. Speed of movement, speed with the ball, speed of skill execution, directional speed, and speed of decision-making all impact soccer performance, as does the ability to accelerate quickly from different positions. The speed and conditioning clinic will focus on the following: 1) development of the initial fitness level required prior to beginning an intensive speed development program; 2) development of coordination and functional movement skills (awareness and balance); 3) development of straight ahead speed (SAS) and lateral speed and agility (LSA). The clinic is designed for both athletes and coaches desiring to increase their knowledge of the most up-to-date methods used to improve soccer speed.
Team Training is offered on a residential, extended day camp, and community day camp basis. Groups (teams) of 10 or more players are trained as a group by an experienced staff coach. Age-appropriate drills and game-simulated exercises are used to develop technical (skill) competence and improve tactical awareness. Contact the camp office for detailed information and a "team application form". |
