"FIRST IN FAMILY" - LION's LALO HERNANDEZ HONORED



McKinney Lions soccer Senior starting midfielder-- and 2009 "Goal of the Year" recipient-- Eduardo "Lalo" Hernandez participated in last night's McKinney High School Grace Rivera Memorial "First In Family" ceremony honoring seniors who are the first in their families to graduate from high school. In addition, Hernandez was awarded the $500 Grace Rivera Memorial Scholarship to take with him to UT Arlington where he will continue his studies and possibly soccer career as well.

NORTH REGION DOMINATES SOUTH REGION 4-0

      
In the Region II TASCO (Texas Association of Soccer Coaches ) Senior Showcase game this past Saturday in Brenham, McKinney Lions captain and MVP Vcmor Eligwe (headed to Midwestern State Univ.) led the north team with two goals and an assist and senior starting showcase defender Randall Smith (headed to Embry Riddle Univ.) contributed to the shutout in their 4-0 win over the south team. Pictured from left are MHS lions Randall Smith , Eligwe, and McKinney north captain Evan Fene. Eligwe's performance earned him Man of the Match honors and was a record for a McKinney ISD player in a showcase game.
