The 2009 MSUM Dragon Baseball team opened the season in Plant City, Florida at the NCBA Spring Training going 4-5 over 9 games. The Dragons hit .323 as a team and were led by (minimum 10 Plate Appearances) Teddy Anderson (.533, 8x15), Ryan Boyer (.500, 3x6, 4 BB), Andrew Cihla (.500, 4x8, 5 BB, 4 SB), Will Bayuk (.417, 5x12, 1HR), Tyler Anderson (.417, 5x12), and Mike Germain (.409, 9x22, 3 2B, 1HR). On the mound the Dragons were led by Will Bayuk who in 3 appearances allowed no runs, 1 hit, 2 BB and had 14Ks in 7 2/3 innings while striking out 14. The Dragons also got a stellar performance from left hander Andrew Herian who picked up a complete game 1-hitter vs Iowa.
