Help me to play the game, dear Lord, with all my might and main; Grant me the courage born of right, a heart to stand the strain…
S
end me a sense of humor, Lord, to laugh when victory’s mine; To laugh, if I should meet defeat, without a fret or whine… Give me the grace to follow rules, to ‘fess up when I’m wrong, When silence or some other thing wins plaudits from the throng… When foes are tough and fighting fierce and I am getting weak, Dear God, don’t ever let me show a broad, bright, yellow streak. And teach me, Lord, life’s game to play just one day at a time.

"PLAY HARD, PLAY SMART, PLAY TOGETHER"
Welcome to the Home of the Starting 5ive Basketball Organization A Texas non-profit organization and an active member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) The Starting 5ive Basketball Organization offers a program which will develop and improve individual team skills, as well as promote good sportsmanship, team spirit, and encourage club loyalty. The club demands a high degree of ethical conduct by all its coaches, players, volunteers, and parents so that it provides a good example for the community, opponents, and its participants, thus helping their growth to adulthood. By accomplishing these goals, the Starting 5ive basketball club will provide our players with additional exposure to the game of basketball, thereby enhancing their opportunity to play at the junior high and high school levels or beyond
Why should I choose the Starting 5ive as my AAU home? Our coaches here at the Starting 5ive care first and foremost about the players’ experience and development. They are an experienced and dedicated group of men and women who truly believe in the Starting 5ive's mission of superior athletic training along with sound biblical guidance. Though we are an extremely competitive AAU organization, our coaches are very much focused on teaching life lessons through the game we all love.
We are committed to making your AAU experience stress-free. Each of the Four teams we field will get the same amount of dedicated attention to ensure a season that runs smoothly. A new set of guidelines and procedures outlined in a 2009 Handbook will assist us in making sure there are no grey areas in how our program is run.
