Summer 2009

2009 Rainier Challenge - The WPFC U12 White came out the in their first game of the season a little slow but showed signs of great play along the way as they fell 2-1 to a solid Crossfire Red team.  The boys came out strong in their second match playing more consistent and getting to the ball a little quicker putting away the Eastside Blue team 3-0.  Our third match would be a "winner to the finals match" against a good HPFC team.  It was a thrilling game back and forth with the score 0-0 at the half.  The second half was back and forth as well with WPFC control most of the game.  Davis would put a brilliant free kick just outside the 18 into the upper corner of the net to put WPFC up 1-0 midway through the half.  HPFC would make strong runs late in the game and put one in the net in the final seconds to tie the game at 1-1 at the finish.  WPFC would advance to the finals with the tie to face Crossfire Red once again (kind of sounds like last year).  But due to the lightning and thunder storms passing through the area the final would not be played due to dangerous weather.  This was a good first showing for our new team and big thanks to our guest players for joining us on the pitch.  Way to go WPFC U12 White!
