Great Effort Results in Tough Loss to the Blaine FusionBandits Lose Tough One at Blaine - Kevin Auth threw a gem on Wednesday night, striking out 16 Fusion hitters and holding them to one run until a 3 run 9th inning rally tied the score. Blaine won it with a questionable run in the bottom of the 11th. Matt Solberg had two hits for the bandits and Patrick Larson singled in a run.
EXELAND BRAVES WIN BANDITS BASH
The Exeland, WI Braves won the 2nd annual tournament with a thrilling 7-6 championship game victory over the defending champion Bloomington Bandits. Adam Rothenbuhler singled in the winning run in the 6th inning and struck out 14 Bloomington hitters enroute to the title. The Ham Lake Freeze took 3rd with a 16 - 1 win over the Quamba Cubs. The Princeton Panthers took the 5th place game over the Rum River Bandits by breaking open a 6-5 game with 10 runs in the 7th to win 18 - 6.
It was another rough weekend for the local nine, unable to put 7 good innings together again. Tony Dahlberg and Jerad Goldsmith led the way for the Bandits with 6 hits each in the tournament, including 3 doubles for Tony and a home run for Jerad.
The tournament produced a triple play, a grand slam, and 15 home runs, providing the good crowds with great baseball entertainment. |
