The doors of Urbana high school opened their doors in 1995. As a result, Linganore saw it’s community divided and LAYAA added  “U” to their name for Urbana.  In 1998 LUYAA had 2 football programs, one for Linganore and one for Urbana.

We are still looking for more historical information on the LUYAA program from 1998 to 2006. During this time we know Lingnaore and Urbana left the Mountain Valley Youth Football League (MVYFL) and joined the Carroll County Football League (CCFL) in 1998. At this time, the youth teams constructed the I-70 trophy that is still in use by the Linganore and Urbana High Schools as a competition. We know that in 2005 and 2006 our Varsity teams won the Super Bowls (looking for team pictures) while participating in the CCFL.

In 2007 Linganore left Carroll County Football League (CCFL) and joined the Mid Maryland Youth Football and Cheer League (MMYFCL). MMYFCL had 5 divisions ranging in skill from the highest to lowest: National, American, Centennial, Liberty, and Federal. The first year Linganore played at the National and Federal levels.

Linganore also experimented with an I-70 league since Mid-Maryland Youth Football and Cheer League (MMYFCL) had such strict weight limits and Linganore had a large amount of players that exceeded the weight limits.  In 2008, the 10U I-70 team (pictured below) won the Super Bowl, but this was the last year for I-70.

In 2010, Linganore had over almost 500 players in their program and at some age groups fielded 4 teams (that is over 70 players at one age group). By this time, Linganore was fielding teams at the American, Liberty, and Federal Divisions within MMYFCL. Our 11-13 American (Varsity) team (pictured below) went undefeated and was the MMYFCL Super Bowl champions and went on to the MD State Tournament to win the State title.

In 2010, the doors of Oakdale high school opened and the Linganore community saw yet another split.  As a result, LUYAA added and “O” to their name for Oakdale.
