In 2011, LOUYAA had 3 football programs, one for Linganore, one for Oakdale, and one for Urbana. Three programs feeding into their local High Schools. 2011 was very different for Linganore from the previous year. One obvious difference was the pure number of players. Linganore went from almost 500 to just over 200. Some age groups were left without enough coaches, but the Linganore community pulled together to have coaches at all levels. In 2011 we had 2 MMYFCL Super Bowl Runner ups, 11-13 American (Varsity) and 8-10 American. Both teams went on to the MD State Tournament and the 8-10 American team (pictured below) came out on top with the State Title. Even though, these 2 teams in the league, our other teams struggled throughout the seaons.
This struggle continued through the 2012 season. However, our 9-11 American team was the MMYFCL Super Bowl runner up.
In 2013, the Linganore management team started to re-evaluate our coaching philosophy and how we were not preparing our coaching staffs to be successful. As a result, Linganore took some of our best coaches and started conducting in-house coaching clinics. In addition, Linganore requested Mid-Maryland Youth Football and Cheer League (MMYFCL) to move them from the American division to the Centennial Division; and that request was granted. 2013 was a very successful year for with 7 of our 10 teams making playoffs and our 10-12 Centennial team being the MMYFCL Super Bowl runner-up.
At the end of the 2013 season, Linganore requested approval to join the Mountain Valley Youth Football League (MVYFL) and was granted membership. Linganore and MVYFL had mutually parted ways over 10 years prior and was excited to start a new chapter in our history.
The 2014 season was our 35th anniversary and we saw a very successful season. We saw more players at our younger levels than we had seen in years past. And we also had all 3 of our competitive level teams (Pony, JV, and Varsity) win their MVYFL division titles. Both the Pony and Varsity teams went on to be Super Bowl runner-ups.
In 2018, Linganore Youth Football was back in the MVYFL Super Bowl after a 3 year dry spout and sealed the deal by winning both games; one at Pony and one at JV.
The 2019 season was our 40th anniversary and we saw a very historic season. Linganore Youth Football won all three MVYFL Super Bowls. This is the first time in the history of Linganore Youth Football that we have won all three and the first time we have won Back to Back Super Bowls at JV and Pony. Additionally, this is the second time in the history of the MVYFL that a program has won all three Super Bowls; the first time was Damascus in 1987.
In 2020, our season was cancelled due to the global COVID pandemic.
In 2021, Linganore Youth Football returned to MVYFL competition, fielding over 220 players between our flag and tackle programs. All 3 of our competitive level teams secured playoff apperances. Our Varsity team was sucessful in their championship bid winning both their MVYFL division title and Super Bowl.
