2019 Winter Fundamental Skills Clinics (born 2006 - 2011) |
We are now accepting registrations for the Winter 2019 Fundamental Skills clinics. Girls whose birth years are from 2006 to 2011 (inclusive) and played in the Taunton Girls Softball League during any of the 2018 seasons (or are registered for Spring, 2019) are eligible to participate. There are a limited number of slots available in the skills clinics and eligibility will be strictly on a first registered and paid, first served basis and only fully paid players will be assigned clinics time slots. Olivia Berry, Head Coach at Emmanuel College will be running these clinics.
The 2019 Winter Skills Clinics are to be held at the Benjamin A. Friedman Middle School Gymnasium, 500 Norton Avenue, Taunton, MA. Skills clinics are 60 minutes long and run on Wednesday nights beginning January 2, 2019 and ending February 6, 2019. There is one time slot 6:00pm - 7:00pm. This clinic will instruct the girls in basic softball skills to carry them into the Spring, 2019 travel/recreational seasons and beyond.

Olivia Berry - Winter Skills Clinics Instructor |
Olivia Berry, Head Softball Coach at Emmanuel College, is our 2019 Advanced Skills Clinics Instructor. Berry brings a strong softball pedigree to our TGSL program as both a coach and a former student-athlete. Prior to being named as Head Softball Coach at Emmanuel College, Berry was an Assistant Softball Coach for two seasons at Wesleyan University where she helped lead the Cardinals to a total of 33 wins over two years. Prior to her coaching stint at Wesleyan, Berry began her collegiate coaching career at Emmanuel as an Assistant Coach during the 2015 season in which the Saints won a then program-record 20 games and advanced to the GNAC Semifinals for the first time in 12 years.
As a collegiate player, Berry played at Division III Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut from 2011 through 2014. She split time as a catcher and designated player and over her career played in a total of 106 games including a career-high of 32 contests her sophomore season.
Berry was named a tri-captain her senior season and over her career helped the Bantams post a total of 67 wins including 22 her rookie campaign in which she helped the team advance to the NESCAC Championship game against nationally ranked Tufts University. Berry finished her collegiate career with 67 hits including 15 extra base hits, 44 RBI, a .382 On-Base Percentage to go along with a .355 Slugging Percentage. She ended her career with 49 walks to rank second all-time in program history for bases on balls.
She was named to the NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Team in 2014 and was also a part of the NESCAC Women's Coaching Symposium.
Olivia looks forward to sharing her softball skills with the girls at Taunton Girls Softball league.
