OUR PURPOSE

 

Broughton Caps Club is the volunteer-led organization that provides the financial and volunteer support for over 600 student athletes competing on over 34 teams in 19 different sports.   The volunteer and fundraising efforts of the Caps Club directly impact the athletic department's ability to provide the quality programs that Broughton’s student athletes and the community enjoy.  

 

2020-2021 School Year

Each year, Wake County gives each school less than $1,000 to cover the costs for its sports teams.  The expenses for each team include everything from playing fields, courts and surfaces to transportation to uniforms.  The funds that the Caps Club raises to support all of this comes from ticket sales, concessions, memberships, sponsorships, and donations. 

Because we never stop maintaining our facilities, those needs continue even if our students are not taking classes at the school.  The Broughton Athletic Department and the Caps Club have been operating since the COVID pandemic hit as normal, in terms of maintaining our facilities, re-conditioning our equipment, making necessary repairs and preparing for the return of games and matches.  The work that we do now will save us time and money in the long run.   For example, one of our current needs is the repair or replacement of the tractors used to cut the fields.  And with a very busy calendar planned for sports, by the end of May, our stadium and baseball fields will need major repairs unlike any that we have seen in the past.

Regardless of the circumstances, we know that fans and families of our students want to remain involved in supporting sports at Broughton High School.  Our greatest desire is that we will be able to safely cheer on all of our teams in person. But until that time comes, the Caps Club is providing an alternative way for you to cheer on our teams and help support the athletic department. 

 

This year, we are offering four membership levels:

 

Century              $100      New Caps Club Membership Car Sticker

 

Purple                 $200      Sticker and 1 subscription to the NFHS Network

 

Gold                    $500      Sticker and 2 subscriptions to the NFHS Network.  Additional codes are $50.

 

Belltower           $1000   Sticker and 5+ subscriptions to the NFHS Network

 

The NFHS subscriptions allow you to watch any sporting event live or on-demand that occurs in the Holliday Gym or on our stadium field and many of our away games. Your subscription lets you watch high schools compete from all over the country!
