NFL EXTRA POINTS February 9, 2010 Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Walter Jones has announced his retirement after 12 years with the team. Jones is regarded as the best offensive tackle to ever play in the NFL. He was the #6 overall pick in the 1997 Draft. NFL all-rookie pick in 1997. Nine-time Pro Bowl Selection, Six Time all NFC selection, Four time first team All-Pro, three time second team All Pro, selected to the NFL's all-decade team for the 2000s, started all 180 gmes he playe for the Seahawks, but missed the past 20 because of injury.
HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2010: Russ Grim, guard 1981-1991 Washington Redskins (11 season 140 games. Four straight Pro Bowls (1983-86.On NFL all-decade team. In 1988, EMU was first place in the Mid-American Conference until mid-season. Also, in 1988 EMU was the Defending Mid-American Conference Champions and Defending California Bowl Champions. Mr. Koernke has first hand knowledge of what it takes to build and maintain a winning college football program because he learned from a top championship coaching staff at Eastern Michigan University from 1988 up to the conclusion of Spring Football in 1989. In 1997, Mr. Koernke started Football Quest International and it was incorporated as Football Quest Internations, Inc., in 2002. Mr. Koernke is a member of the American Football Coaches Association and American College of Sports Medicine.

Lewis Carpenter, B.S. Offensive and Defensive Specialist Mr.Carpenter graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1950s. He entered the National Football League after granduating as a player. Colonel Willie Pollard, M.S.-U.S. Army-Retired Graduate of Prairie View University-1960s Mr. Pollard was a four year letter winner at Prairie View University and was drafted by the Washington Redskins when Otto Graham was head coach, but was called to serve as an officicer in the Vietnam War. He was highly decoreated for his service in the Vietnam War. He became a career military officer and served in Europe during the 1970s and 1980s. 1971-1974: North Carolina A&T University Football Team-Offensive Coordinator. 1976: Co-Founder of the German/American Football League 1984-1986: Rothenburg Knighs-West Germany. Mr.Pollard served as head coach and general manager. In 1988 he led the Knights to the Silver Bowl Championship game and won it.
Patrick Dignam, M.S.-Linebacker Specialist Graduate of Eastern Michigan University-1964 He has had over 40 years of coaching experience in the State of Michigan. He played football at Eastern Michigan Univeristy from 1960-1964. The defenses he has coached on the high school level have been excellant and he is a very great football coach. Over the years he has served as a defensive coordinator and defensive position coach at the high school level. Also, he was a teacher in the State of Michigan for over 30 years.
Paul Test, M.S.-Defensive Backfield Specialist He was a member of the 1976 National Championship Team-University of Pittsburgh. All thorough his professional life he has been a teacher in teh State of Michigan and served as a defensive coordinator and head football coach on the high school level. As defensive coordinator he helped Ann Arbor Pioneer High School, win two State Championships-1984 and 1987. As a head football coach at Ann Arbor Pioneer High from 1990-1995 he led winning teams. In 1983, he was defensive coordinator at Ann Arbour Pioneer High, and his defense was numer one at the high school level through9ut the entire State of Michigan. *Note-Watch for information on additional coaches and directors to be posted here.
Dan Brown, B.S.-Defensive Specialist Mr. Brown is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University-1980s. He played defensive bac at Wiley College and Eastern Michigan University. After granduating he was an assistant football coach and head football coach at the high school level in the State of Michigan. Mr. Brown is a great football coach who has had many winning teams over the years. He has knowledge when it comes to defensive football.
Thomas Hill, SR.-Offensive Specialist Mr. Hill is a graduate of Hillsdale College and Eastern Michigan University. He received his Master's Degree and Specialist in Education Degree from Eastern Michigan University. At Hillsdale College he played football as a running back. Mr. Hill has served as a head coach and offensive coordinator over the years. The teams he has coached have had winning sesons at the high school level. Mr. Hill is an excellent football coach and is an expert when it comes to offensive football. He has served as a teacher and assistant principal in the State of Michigan. He has served as a high school athletic director in Ohio.
Wayne Boyd, B.S.-Wide Receiver Specialist Mr. Boyd is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University-1980s. He played football at Eastern Michigan University and is a member of the 1987 Mid-American Conference Champion Football Team and `1987 California Bowl Championship Team which beat San Jose State University. Over the years he has been a teach in the State of Michigan and he conducts fundamental hyouth football camps during the summer months. Also, Mr.Boyd participated in Track and Field at Eastern Michigan University.

The North Eastern Alliance has announced its lineup of teams for the 2010 season: Buffalo Gladiators, Monroe County Sting (defending champions), Cortland Bulldogs, Oneida County Titans, Delaware County Rattlers (new), SouthernTier Diesel, Jamestown Chiefs, Troy Fighting Irish, Lyndonville Tigers and Watertown Revolution. The Monroe County Sting defeated the Kings Comets (Mid Continental League), in the Sunshine Bowl/Ameican Football Rules National Championship in Homestead, Florida on January 16th.
Heartland League News The Heartland Football League (AA), has added the following teams from the USFA for this season: Lima Warriors, Akron Jagz, Ohio Valley Warriors, North Coast Vikings, Kentucky/Ohio Extreme and Cleveland Cobras. The league has 24 teams. The Mid-Ohio Jets won the AFNT Class AA National Championship at the Sunshine Bowl Extravaganza Weekend.
NEW LEAGUE IN HAWAII A new minor football league is in the works for the Islands of Hawaii. The old Hawaii League produced some great teams in the past, until the economy and high expenses of traveling between the Islands forced it out of business. With the new Super Ferry between the Islands in operations and fares being resonable, a league is being formed. For more info email: Corbishop@aol.com
The World Football League has announced its lineup of team for their third season of play which kicks off May 1st: CENTRAL DIVISION-Arkansas Wildcats, Kansas Kaos, Oklahoma Thunder , Oklahoma Wolverines. HEARTLAND DIVISION-Capital City (Lincoln, Nebraska) Crush, Des Moines Blaze, Midwest (Iowa) Rampage, Sioux Falls (SD) Shrine and Nebraska Wildcats. MIDSTATES DIVISION-St.Louis Bulldogs, Springfield(Illinois) Headhunters and Tennessee (Memphis) Vengence. SOUTH DIVISION-Austin Gamebreakers, Dallas Diesel, Eagle Mt.(Tx) Marauders and Texas (Hutto,) Bulldogs. The Oklahoma Thunder are the two time defending champions, and have never lost a game.
NORTH AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE NEWS: The North American Football League has added more divisions and teams to its lineup for the Western Region this season. The Northwest Division has eight teams: Kitsap County (Wash) Bears, Eastside (Seattle) Extreme, Bellingham(Wash) Bulldogs, Grays Harbor (Wash) Bearcats, Portland(Oregon) Raiders and Southeast Oregon Renegades. The Bulldogs are defending champions. Pacific Region's Bayside Division has the San Diego Thunder, California Tide, and Ventura Sabers. The Sun Valley Division has the Las Vegas Kings and Las Vegas Bucaneers. The Mile High Division has the Casper (Wyoming) Storm, Colorado Force and Colorado Renegades. All of the team are eligible to compete in the 9th Annual Far West Football Alliance Tournament that leads to the Championship, November 20, 2010 in Las Vegas.
The Ironman Football League was founded by Chris Chudada in 1996. Its purpose is to provide a professional and quality atmosphere for its players and fans. The league also provides players 18 & older the ability to play full contact highly competitive football on a professional level. The IFL has just announced that the league's biggest game "Ironbowl XIV will be played this year in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin at the $4.2 million dollar renovation project of Hart Park on Saturday August 28th. There have been 13 very exciting Ironbowl championships in the history of the IFL. Each year the top teams from each of their respected conferences compete ina single elimination playoff series where one team from each conference will compete in teh Ironbowl for the greates prize.
The Southeast Football League (Florida), kicks off its 8th season of play, January 13th. The league was organized by Jesse & Mercedes Wiggins in 2003. Past winners: 2003-Knights of Miami; 2004-Knights of Miami; 2005-Orange County Flacons; 2006-Central Florida Thoroughbreds; 2007-Central Coast Thoroughbreds;2008-Knights of Miami; 2009-Brevard Warriors. 2010 lineup of teams by divisions: NORTH-Tampa Bay Bulldogs, Osceola Rattlers, Florida Crusaders, Central Floriga Thoroughbreds and Florida Thunder. SOUTH-Lauderdale Lions, Florida (Homestead) Kings, Hallandale Cardianals, Pompano Beach Yellowtails and South Florida Broncos. NORTHEAST -Brevard Warriors, Palm Beach Mariners, Palm Beach Jaguars, South Broward Jaguars and Treasure Coast Buccaneers. SUNSHINE BOWL EXTRAVAGANZA NEWS AND VIEWS  The name Sunshine Bowl Sports Extravaganza is owned by Mercedes & Jesse Wiggins.
The 9th Annual Sunshine Bowl Sports Extravaganza will be back again in January , 2011 "Bigger and Better". The Hall of Fame and Sunshine Bowl Extravaganza is always held during the Martin Luther King weekend in Homestead,Florida. The International All-Stars vs Southeast League All-Stars will once again be part of it, along with four National Championship Game, the Martin Luther King and Hurricane Bowls, and the North-South Bowl. The second annual American Football Hall of Fame banquet and awards ceremony will also be held the Thursday before the games, January 13, 2011.
