You’re invited to a skate with the 2010-11 Alaska Nanook hockey team,
and to a special autograph signing by former Nanook and 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Jordan Hendry.
When: Sunday, September 5th from 12:15-1:15 pm
Where: UAF Patty Center Ice Arena
Why: To kick-off the season & show your support for Nanook Hockey
Autographed photos of Jordan Hendry are $25, with family discounts for additional photos. All proceeds raised go to the Alaska Nanook Hockey Alumni Association, which directly supports the needs of the Alaska Nanook Hockey program. Fans will also have the chance to skate with the 2010-2011 Nanook Hockey team and collect autographs from the players. Please help us spread the word about this great kick-off skate and we’ll see you at the rink!

Renew Your Food Worker Card before 9/15/2010 to avoid a $10 fee.
The Food Worker Card (FWC) program would like to remind current cardholders to review their card's expiration date, and make sure it is not in danger of expiring. Food Worker Cards are valid for three years. The first cards issued will be expiring in early 2010. Cardholders should renew their card between 30 days prior to expiration and 30 days after expiration, a 60 day window.
To renew a card: Retake the online test located at http://alaska.state.gegov.com/foodworker/ or have a paper test sent to you by calling our toll free number 1-877-233-3663 or (907) 334-2560.
Charges
At this time, there is no charge for new Food Worker Cards or renewals. However, beginning September 15, 2010, there will be a $10 fee for all cards issued. (Free cards issued before 9/15/2010 will remain valid until they expire.

It’s that time of year again! Ice Puppies Registration, Sunday August 22nd, 12 noon to 2pm at Sport King for returning players and Arctic Lions/NAHA families.
Don’t forget you need to bring a photo copy of your child birth certificate, and proof of registration with USA Hockey. http://www.usahockeyregistration.com/ USA hockey registration is free for children 6 and under.

New player registration will be Wednesday, September 8th at Play It Again Sports at 2pm.
