This year it’s another ARL Venom – Beach FC Fire matchup; sure to be a fast paced, physical shoot out from two outstanding soccer teams. The past two years Venom has met up with Beach FC in the semi finals, unable to top them when the final whistle blew. This year hopes run high for a different result as Venom has overpowered their opponents on their way to the State Cup Finals.

In first round play Venom beat VAR Nike 10-0 and followed that performance with a 9-0 victory over the Richmond Kickers Elite. A 4-0 third round victory over FC Richmond Magic propelled the Venom into a semi final meeting with SOCA Lightning. On a rain soaked field with a misty drizzle falling, Venom faced their first deficit in a state cup game as SOCA scored early on a set piece. Against a determined opponent Venom was able to go into halftime with a 2-1 lead. They then put the game out of reach in the second half with 5 additional goals for a 7-1 victory.

With a state cup tally of 30 goals for and 1 goal against, Venom head into Sunday’s final well prepared to take the field with confidence and poise. Game time on Sunday is 10:30am at Striker Park in Richmond on the Stadium Field.
