Welcome! Last year's season was a another big success for the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League (MCBL). MCBL is a wooden bat summer baseball league designed to provide college ballplayers with an exciting venue to broaden their skills and enjoy the classic game of baseball.
In 2009, the MCBL had a team participate again in a post season NABF World Series Tournament.
Preparartions are being made for the 2010 season. We anticipate the league adding at least one new team, showing continued growth and a high level of interest in college level summer leagues in the Baltimore - Washington area! This coming year, the MCBL will play approximately 32 regular season games starting in late May, 2010 and ending late July 2010. Some of those games will be against teams from the Clark Griffith League, centered in Northern Virginia. In addition, teams may compete to play in post-season regional and national tournaments.
If you're looking for a place to play, look no further. Managers of teams seeking to join the league should contact the commissioner and request an application form and additional information. Players who have not yet turned 23 prior to May 1, 2010 will be eligible for the 2010 season.
Players interested in playing this season should directly contact the general manager or head coach of any team that they might be interested in. Contact information for each team can be found by clicking on the "Staff" link.
See you on the field! |
