Covenant continued its week of firsts, as the Lady Lions followed up their district championship with a victory in the first round of the regional playoffs. Covenant struck early, scoring 3 runs in the first inning, and never trailed in the game, going on to an 8-5 victory over Central Florida Christian.

Sonja Townsend pitched a great game, giving up only 4 hits, and also did damage at the plate, recording 2 hits. Morgan Osman had 3 hits and Rachel cutting had 2, to help the Lady Lions win their ninth game of the season.

Covenant advances to the regional semi-final on Friday afternoon, at Fred Lee park. The Lady Lions will host Faith Christian at 4:00.
