Play Ball USA, Chicagoland's premier indoor baseball-softball training facility, will present the Chicago Elite Showcase, a series of youth baseball all-star games for the age groups of 9-14, on Wednesday, July 27th. The 'Showcase will be held at Alexian Field (1999 Sprininsguth Rd. Schaumburg, IL). Admission is $5.

"The rapid growth of travel baseball over the years has eliminated the old town-centered Little League All-Star Game," said Play Ball USA Owner Nelson Gord, a former professional baseball player with pro, college, and high school playing roots in the Chicagoland area. "The Chicago Elite Showcase aims to bring that All-Star Game concept back to the forefront. Coaches from participating leagues will select the very best player on each of their teams, and we will form the Elite Showcase rosters accordingly. We're trying to bring a traditional feel to the event by using wooden bats."

The last two CES events has put some of the finest talent in the Chicago area on the same field at one time.  The event will be even stronger in 2011!

Schedule of Events

On Friday, June 17th a group of 50 high school sophomores and juniors (Classes of 2013/14) will participate in the finest under level showcase event in the Chicagoland area.

This All-Star game will run on the same weekend as the Northwest Suburban Baseball Tournament.  Harvey Foster has directed this prestigious event for the past 14 baseball seasons.  The NWSBT is held at Stevenson High School, and the top 190+ high school seniors showcase their talent to over 100 college recruiters and major league scouts.

These same recruiters and scouts will arrive at Alexian Field on Friday evening for a special reception in the Schaumburg Club, and to watch the "stars of tomorrow" play the game they all love.

Players invited to part-take in this inaugural event will first go through a pro-style workout (60 yard dash, throws from the infield and outfield) from which the results will be provided to the coaches in attendance.  This entire workout will be filmed and players will have the opportunity to purchase an edited recruiting video from the event.

High school and travel coahes are encouraged to nominate the top players in the area using the link at the side of this page.  Players can also apply on their own using the same registration area, but we will need your coach's contact information to confirm facts.
