ILLINOIS SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Fred LeSage and Bill Storrs are legends in the Chicagoland semi-pro baseball world. Bill was the head coach of the Crestwood Panthers. His team played in the CSBL for 17 yeawrs.  Fred remains the coach of the Beecher Mus, a CSBL mainstay since 2000. Both Bill and Fred were honored for their contributions to baseball when they were inducted into the Illinois Sports Hall of Fame on June 13 in Springfield, IL.

 

The Illinois Sports Hall of Fame was established to honor and celebrate the rich heritage of interscholastic, collegiate, and professional sports within the state. By recognizing the achievements of athletes and teams, it aims to preserve the legacy of Illinois sports and inspire future generations.  

CSBL BEGINS 43rd SEASON

The 43nd consecutive season of CSBL summer baseball began on Wednesday when the Beecher Muskies defeated the Lake County Corndogs by a score of 10 to 3, and the Addison Braves defeated the Oswego Cats by a score of 4-3.  The victory for the Braves was the 1000th career victory for manager Larry Kurkowski. The team honored their coach with a commemorative plaque. 

 

This season, each of the CSBL teams will play five games against one another. Each team will also play two games against the Crown Point Corn Dogs and Calumet Beavers for a total of 29 games.

 

After completion of the regular season, the CSBL will host the NABF Major Division World Series.

CSBL TO HOST NABF WORLD SERIES

During the 110th Annual meeting of the National Amateur Baseball Federation, the Board of Directors approved the proposal of the CSBL to host the NABF Charlie Blackburn Major Division World Series in 2025. The event will take place July 30 to August 3 at the home fields of North Central College and Wheaton College. The Beecher Muskies and Lombard Orioles have been designated co-hosts for the tournament.  Go here for more info.
