Post-Graduate (PG) Football ProgramThe Florida Suncoast Prep (PG) is a one year Post-Graduate Football Program, designed to facilitate the marketing of talented high school graduates, who were overlooked or failed to meet the NCAA academic requirements and consequently denied the opportunity to compete at the college level. Our post-graduate program is designed to bring together the prospective student-athlete and the athletic program so that both have an efficient vehicle to increase the probability of success.
Florida Suncoast Prep (PG) will target three distinct aspects of a college-bond athlete's development; Academics, Athleticism and positive Attitude (Character).
Academics: "The Student Aspect"
The Florida Suncoast Prep (PG) is a college-bond program. It is mandatory that all college-bond athletes enrolled in the Waves’ post-graduate football program to register in college-prep courses or higher at a community college as a part-time student (less than 12 credit hours).
Study hall sessions will take place Sunday through Thursday. Study hall hours will be set by the head coach. Professional licensed teachers, counselors and qualified tutors from local universities along with the coaching staff of Florida Suncoast Prep will administer study hall.
NCAA Clearinghouse: It is Florida Suncoast Prep (PG) objective to ensure that all college-bond-athletes are NCAA qualifiers, eligible to play football at the D2 or higher. NCAA academic requirements are divided into three (3) categories; core-courses, GPA and SAT/ACT. College-bond athletes who are enrolled in our post-graduate program and are not NCAA qualifers will be assigned a FSP college-prep counselor. Our counselors will evaluate and monitor each athlete's progress to assure they meet the NCAA academic requirements for eligibility.
Waves’ athletes must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher, attend classroom and study halls to remain in good standing with Florida Suncoast Prep (PG).
Athleticism: "The Athlete Aspect"
Florida Suncoast Prep (PG) football program second objective, is to aid in the athlete's transition from high school to the college prep level. The Florida Waves' coaching staffs are made up of former college coaches and NFL players.
Our post-graduate football program is design to refine the athlete's skills and knowledge to compete with their peers at the upper collegiate level.
Waves’ athletes will be exposed to a rigid workout program, intense practices and an eight to eleven game schedule similar to most D1 and D2 universities football programs.
Attitude:"The Character Aspect"
It will take more than just talent for an athlete to make it at the collegiate level. By teaching our college-bond athletes self-discipline and the meaning of hard work will make their dreams of competing at collegiate level a reality.
Florida Suncoast Prep (PG) football program pushes the college-bond athlete on the practice field, testing their character and leadership skills and most importantly, getting each athlete committed to their education.
