3 Players from 2009 Showcase Invited to USA Baseball - NTIS

September 3, 2009 - Three players who participated in the 2009 Chicago Elite Showcase were selected to represent the Great Lakes region in the USA Baseball National Team Identification Series tournament.

Mike Reitcheck (Crystal Lake, IL) stood out as the top 14U player in the CES event with mid-70s fastball and good secondary pitches.  He also swung the bat extremely well and showed above average actions in the outfield.

Kyle Colletta (Lincolnwood, IL) rated out near the top of all CES players behind the plate, in the infield, and also at the plate.  His smooth left-handed stroke and ability to drive the baseball separated him from the pack.

Christoper Delgadillo (Schererville, IL) was all over the diamond at the CES.  He made a couple spectacular catches in centerfield and showed his range in the middle infield.  Chris opened eyes with the fastest 60yd time out of all the 13U players in the event.

There will be a total of 18 players for each team (13U, 15U, 17U) selected to represent the Great Lakes region for the USA Baseball event held in Cary, NC.  The Great Lakes team will compete against 10 other regions from across the country.  Players from this event will be evaluated an have the opportunity to wear the red, white and blue as a member of the US National Team in 2010 international competition.
