2010 Welland Warlord Registration & Tryouts

The Welland Vesuvius Warlords will be holding their 2010 tryouts on the following dates:
Saturday March 6
Saturday March 13
Saturday March 20
Saturday April 3
All tryout dates will run from 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM, players should be there and ready to go on the floor at 8:00 PM. Tryouts will take place at Lakemount Sportsworld, 14 Iroquois Trail, Grimsby, ON.

The Warlords will be having two registrations prior to tryouts. Registrations will take place on Saturday February 6, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM and on Saturday February 20, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the Welland Arena Lobby. All players trying out must be registered before being allowed on the floor. Cost of the tryouts will be $60.00 payable at registration. Also make sure you bring a photo copy of your Birth Certificate when registering. Any players wishing to tryout from other municipalities must have written permission from the Junior Club in their municipality should there be one, an e-mail from the Junior Club's GM to me at rwright1551@cogeco.ca or Jesse Cracknell at jesse.cracknell8@gmail.com will also be accepted.

MSL: WARLORD'S KEVIN FLORIS TO BRAMPTON

Brampton Excelsiors - winners of the Mann Cup the past two seasons drafted Welland Warlord's Captain Kevin Floris in the third round of the Major Series Lacrosse League which was held at the Iroquois Park Sports Complex in Whitby on Sunday January 31. Floris played with the Jr. A Brampton Excelsiors after the Warlords season ended last year. Congratulations Kevin.

MSL: FORMER WARLORD RYAN LEARN TO KITCHENER-WATERLOO

Former Welland Warlord Ryan Learn was drafted in the first round of the Major Lacrosse League by the Kitchener Waterloo Kodiaks. Ryan played 54 games with the Warlords over 3 years (2005-2007)scoring 53 goals and adding 48 assists for 101 pts placing him in 5th place on the Warlords all time scoring list. Ryan finished his Junior career with the Junior A Burlington Chiefs. Ryan played parts of three seasons (2005-2007) with the Chiefs and Warlords before finishing off his last two years (2008-2009) with the Chiefs. Ryan played a total of 75 Junior A games over the 5 years scoring 77 goals and adding 122 assists for 199 points. In 20 Junior A plyoff games Ryan had 51 points on 20 goals and 31 assists. Congratulation Ryan.

JR A DRAFT : AKWESASNE INDIANS DRAFT DYLAN GATT

#33 Dylan Gatt

The Welland Warlords would like to congratulate Dylan Gatt on being drafted to the Akwesasne Indians of the OLA Junior A League. The draft was held on Sunday January 23 in Toronto. Dylan spit his time with the Welland Midget Raiders and the Welland Jr. B Warlords. Dyland played in 18 regular season games with the Warlords scoring 2 goals and adding 12 assists and in 8 playoff games Dylan scored 4 goals and added 9 assists
