Oregon Elite Basketball Club (OEBC) is one of the few year around training programs in the Pacific Northwest.  Coach Gary Lavender originated OEBC to fill a void in prep basketball training for high school athletes in the state of Oregon and southwest Washington. Coach Lav has coached basketball in the Portland area for 33 years, 27 of those years at Lake Oswego High School where his teams played in 8 Final Fours in addition to claiming 14 trophies at the Oregon State Tournament while winning over 550 games.  He was Oregon Coach of the Year 6 times, Three Rivers League Coach of the Year 7 times, and runner up National Coach of the Year.   His teams were well known for their discipline and tremendous team play.  He has assisted 30 players to achieve their goal of playing D-1 basketball in addition to many more at the D-2, D-3, NAIA, and junior college level.  Contact Coach Lav at lavygli@aol.com.

2010 Spring and Summer Schedule:  The 2010 season will be here before you know it.  The 2010 tournament schedule is listed on the side bar of the "Home" page.  With 16 players returning off the 2009 squads, OEBC will be expecting a banner year next year as both teams will be reloaded and ready to improve upon their successes of the 2009 seaason.  OEBC will field a third team next year (Red team) and this team will be made up of the youth players that have matriculated through the OEBC academy program.  The Navy and White teams will play in the upper brackets of all the tournaments while the Red team will play in the younger age bracket tournaments.  Coach Lav will travel the Northwest looking for a few good players to fill in the roster of all three teams this coming winter.  If you have an interest in playing on one of these teams, please contact Coach Lav at lavygli@aol.com.

Fall Academy Begins September 8:

Congratulations to both the Navy and the White teams for an outstanding summer viewing season.  The White team ended the spring and summer with a 22-10 record ending on a 10 game winning streak that enabled them to go 7-0 in Phoenix before finally losing in the Final 8 in San Diego.  Great run!!  The Navy team finished the summer with a 17-12 record and finished the viewiing period extremely strong as they defeated a very tough FBC Riverside team and the Arizona Silver Streaks to end their season.  OEBC will lose 5 very talented seniors for the 2010 season (Kelsey Allred-Tualatin, Alison Evans-Canby, Melissa Fowler-Canby, Jess Luersen-Summit, and Taylor Jones-McNary) but will return the majority of a very strong underclass.  This was probably the most successful tour that OEBC has enjoyed, not only on the floor, but off as well.  The players, staff, and parents meshed extremely well and enjoy time at the wharf in Seattle, at the great water park in Phoenix, and at Sea World and Mission Beach in San Diego (picutes will be posted soon).  Great summer and the staff looks forward to the 2010 season!!

EOT ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM: Congratulations to Elise Nelson (Navy) and Hannah Doran (White) as they were chosen on the all star team for their play duing the July 6-9 tournament!!:
