Rivalries rekindled as retired PBA stars mix it up
LOS ANGELES, California—Classic rivalries were rekindled and history revisited as retired PBA stars took the hard court once again recently, playing a series of exhibition games for a cause. |
The PBA Legends Grand Reunion Tour and Dream Series was a smash hit among Filipino fans in Northern California over the weekend. Hundreds of fans had to be turned away from the Union City venue because of fire code regulations. Organizers are expecting a heavier fan turnout in LA and San Diego . read full story by Ed Tayag
Tim Coloso, Francis Arnaiz, Robert "JAWO" Jaworski, Mon Fernandez, Abe King, Ruffy Ignacio and Rino Salazar at San Diego-Peterson Gym - PBA Legends Tour's final game. Ohana Harbor Coffee-Team Jaworski (Toyota) beat Martin Purefoods (Crispa) 94-86.
To PBA Legends USA Foundation:
The PBA Legends Reunion Tour was a huge success. I don't know how you did it, but you definitely put everyone in their feet to see the very first reunion of the legends. It was great seeing the oldies can still run court-to-court to show their old &great; moves.
I grew up watching these guys do battle in hardcourt action. I shouted loud like the boxing match of Pacquiao and Marques last night.
Your idea to put them all together isn't that easy,I know. Brillant timing to reunify. You were respectedly honored by one of the stars to acknowledge what you did for them. It was like seeing my old classmates for long time we never had.
In fact those stars, they don't just play before but also become mortal enemy, things are all personal. Tabloids, insulting remarks, low blow hitting...di ba?
Well, all I can say is you are the PIONEERs of this unforgettable event. I was wondering how did u really pull this one out. Its like putting jabar, chamberlain, jordan etc. In one table to eat.
Again CONGRATULATIONs!!!
