Dodgers 22 Rangers 5
The Dodgers entered their game Sunday sitting on top of the standings with a 6-1 record, taking on the Rangers at Canyon High School. The Dodgers were able to give starter, Spencer Wolfe an early 1-0 lead in the Top of the 1st inning, after Wolfe himself, brought in the run. The Rangers were battling, chipping away at the Dodgers lead, keeping the game close, until the 6th inning came along, which is when the game got out of hand. The Dodgers scored 3 in the 6th lead by a two run double by Wolfe, 4 in the 7th aided by RBIs from Ari Shandling and Ricky Reeve. Followed by 2 runs 8th highlighted by a Phil McManama homerun (his second consecutive week with a HR). Finally, the Dodgers capped off the game with 7 in the 9th inning, 4 of those 7 runs coming from a grand slam from John Coulsell. While the Dodgers scored runs in every inning from the 6th on, the Rangers bats went silent, and Dodger pitching kept the Rangers scoreless the rest of the way. Next week the Dodgers (7-1) take on the Expos (2-5-1) at Granada Hills High, on the mound will be rookie sensation Brian Meyer (2-0) coming off back-to-back complete games and sporting a microscopic 0.69 ERA. Game time 2pm.
