Come Up Big In Championship Game With A 15-3 Win Over The Royals
The Laguna Cardinals make it two championship in two years with a big win over the Orange County Royals.
Gino Aielli was the man on Sunday, 13 K’s, complete game, a home run and 3 stolen bases, what more could you ask for. Al Rodriguez and Jeff Harmell led the offensive surge, with Al going 3 for 4, 5 RBI’s, and hitting in clutch time and Jeff; 2 for 5, a home run and 5 RBI’s.
Frank Rodriquez went 2 for 5, with a double and 3 RBI's on base 4 out of 5 at bats. Also going 2 for 5 was shortstop John Fendler. Matt Stiener almost made one of his signiture diving catches in center field in the 6th inning to lead a strong defensive effort by the Cardinals.
The Cardinals are gearing up for a trifecta with the 2012 PCBL season coming up in Feburary.
4/10 Laguna Beach Cardinals Rebound After Tough Lose
The Laguna Beach Cardinals take a double header from the Rays, it was a great rebound after the tough 1-2 lose last weekend. The wins were 9-2 and 10-8. Leading the way offensively were Gino Aeilli going 3 for 4 with two doubles and Brenton Baskin smashing his first home run of the season driving in three runs, John Fendler also had a 2 for 4 game. Bruce Hammill pitched a solid game for the win.
The second game was also led offensively by Gino with a 2 for 3 game and another two doubles, Brenton picked up where he left off going 2 for 3 and two doubles, Frank Rodriquez also chipped in a 2 for 3 day and one double. John Fendler got the win with a save going to Bruce Hammill.
4/3 Laguna Beach Cardinals lose tough one
The Laguna Beach Cardinals lost a tough 10 inning game to the Sol Grill Cardinals 1-2 this past Sunday. Bruce Hammill pitch all 10 innings for the Laguna Beach Cardinals. The LB Cardinals were close with two runners thrown out at the plate. John Fendler, 3 for 4, Brenton Baskin 2 for 3 and Gino Aeilli, 2 for 3 lead the way offensively with multi hit days.
Spring 2011 Comes Up Roses
The Laguna Beach Cardinals started the 2011 season in fine fashion with a 9-2 victory over the Winter League Champions Mission Viejo Royals. Bruce Hammill was tough on the mound throwing a complete game with 11 strikeouts. Pat Befort provided the offensive spark with a 4 for 5 day at the plate and sparkling defense was provided by shortstop Gino Aielli. Great team play in all categories of play.

7/18 LB Cardinals get on winning track with victory against Halos 12-6
The LB Cardinal had a real team victory today, they were firing on all cyclinders. Great defensive plays by Matt Steiner at shortstop and Sean O'Donnell in right field. At the plate, Sean was also big, going 3 for 4. Also having a big day was John Fendler going 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI's.
7/11 LB Cardinals lose season opener to White Sox
The single A division champions lost their summer season opener to the AAA spring finalist White Sox 14-4. The Cardinal bats were rather quiet, except for the 3 for 3 inaugural day of Kevin Cook, welcome aboard Kevin. Cardinal pitching had a tough time getting dialed in, with 4 hit batters. We look to get our bats going against the Halos this Sunday and notch our first win of the season.
LB Cardinals cap 1st season in PCBL by winning championship with 4-2 victory over Athletics!!!
The LB Cardinals championship celebration will be short lived, we are off to the opening of the PCBL summer season. The LB Cardinals will open against the Dukes at Villa Park HS on July 11, 12:45. We are ready and primed to go!!
Congratulations to the spring season OC all-starts; Frank Rodriquez, Pat Befort and Bruce Hammill. The OC all-stars beat the LA all-stars 3-1, at USC Dedeaux Field.
June 20 LB Cardinals cap 1st season in PCBL by winning championship with 4-2 victory over Athletics!!!
For the second week in a row Mike Santillo wins game for Cardinals, this time on the mound. After a strong 7 innings from Bruce Hammill, who had to leave due to injury, and a 1,2,3 eight inning by John Fendler, Mike came in with the bases loaded and no outs in the 9th and went 1,2,3, to close out the game. After having lost to the Athletics during the regular season, the Cardinals won the one that counted! Great way to start entry into PCBL, we look forward to the 2010 summer season.
June 13 LB Cardinals heading to championship game with last inning rally.
Mike Santillo led the way offensively with a 3 for 5 day and a walk off hit in the final inning for 10-9 win. John Fendler stopped the bleeding out of the bullpen with a scoreless 2 and 1/3 innings of relief work. John also had a perfect 2 for 2 day at the plate. Pat Befort had a multi-hit day going 2 for 5 and 2 RBI's. With the win the LB Cardinals march on to the championship game.
June 6 LB Cardinals end season on high note with 16-5 victory over Orioles
Andrew Dale and Abel Gonzalez led the way offensively, Andrew going 2 for 4 and Abel having a 3 for 4 day. Bruce Hammill was solid on the mound again for the win allowing only 7 hits and striking out 5. With the win the Cardinals will go into the playoffs as the second seed with plans to bring home a championship.
May 16 LB Cardinals are edged out in tough lost 1-2
Bruce Hammill pitched a great game, 8K's, only to lose 1-2, in hard fought contest with A's. Frank Rodriquez continues his hot hitting going 2 for 3, just missing a home run with the ball hitting the top of fence bouncing back into the field for a double. Abel Gonzalez drove in the lone Cardinal run in the sixth inning.
May 9 Cardinals extend win with 16-6 win over Travelers
Bruce Hammill got the win going the distance, with 8 K's. The offense was led with multi-hit games from Pat Befort, going 2 for 3, Frank Rodriquez a big day going 4 for 5, Bruce Hammill, 3 for 4, Andrew Vialpando 2 for 3 and 3 RBI's and Andrew Dale 2 for 3.
May 2 Zach Stuart leads the way for 16-4 victory over Kings with 16 K's
LB Cardinals win 3rd in a row with Zach Stuart going the distance with 16 strikeouts and scattering 9 hits. Al Rodriquez led the offense going 3 for 4, with a single double and triple, a homerun shy of the cycle and driving in 3 runs. Mike Santillo and Ed Weber also had multi hit day, Mike going 2 for 4 and 1 RBI and Ed going 2 for 5 and 4 RBI's. Bruce Hammill got great mileage out of a 1 for 2 day, 3 walks, driving in 4 runs.
Apr 25 LB Cardinals extend win streak to 2 games with 29-5 victory over Halos
The LB Cardinals had another big day scoring, pushing 29 runs across the plate and banging out 21 hits. Frank Rodiquez led the way going 4 for 5 and drove in 5 runs. Al Rodriquez had a perfect day at the plate going 3 for 3 and 3 RBI's. Other multi hit performances were had by Ed Weber, 3 for 4, Pat Befort 2 for 4 and Mike Santillo 2 for 4 and 4 RBI's. Zach Stuart notched his second win of the season with 6 strikeouts.
Cardinals are looking for a strong finish going into the playoffs.
Apr 18 LB Cardinals get back to winning ways with a big 23-3 victory
The LB Cardinals exploded with 16 hits and 23 runs behind the stellar pitching of Zach Sturart with 9 strikeouts and John Fendler. Pat Befort leading the way offensively going 4 for 5 with 2 triples and 3 RBI's. Other big perfomances Al Rodriquez 2 for 4 and 4 RBI's, Ed Weber 2 for 4, John Fendler 2 for 4 and Abel Gonzalez 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. Cardinals improve their record to 4-1.

Big hit attack, with Frank Rodriquez, Al Rodriquez, Bruce Hammill, John Fendler and Abel Gonzalez each driving in 2 runs. Bruce Hammill had 10 strikeouts on the mound in 6 innings.

LB Cardinals got their second win of the season. Once again Bruce Hammill was solild on the mound for the win with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Mike Santillo leading the offense with a 3 for 4 day, Pat Befort and Andrew Vialpando had 2 for 4 days with Andrew adding 3 RBI's.
