RECRUIT, RECRUIT, RECRUIT! we do not stop recruiting players. All players are welcome to tryout, with no fees necessary!!
Tom Robinson and Armin Covington established the Chicago Falcons in April 1990. This coaching duo has been together for the past 28 years through high school and semi pro. The team was established to give young men an opportunity to gain knowledge about the game of football, improve their playing skills and offer a positive alternative to gangs, drugs and just hanging out. Playing for this team could provide an opportunity for a scholarship to college or possibly enhance their chances for a tryout with a professional football team.
The Chicago Falcons have been around a lot longer than most of the semi pro football leagues and the oldest team in the state of IL. In our 21 seasons of football we have been in 14 playoffs, 9 of those in the Championship game and coming away with 6 titles, 96, 98, 99, 00, 02 & 03 and back to back Division titles in 2010 and 11.
The Falcons are working hard to get another championship title with a new bunch of "Falcons For Life" players in 2012; the Falcons have the distinction of playing the most games in the area and possibly the nation with 23 games played in 2010. 21 games played in 2011,and now the Falcons look to break the record and reach 25 games for the 2012 season. All interested players should contact Joel Pruneda chicagofalcons@hotmail.com 630-202-3352
The Falcons would like to thank the GMFL for 3 great season of outstanding leadership among its board members and look to make year 4 the best season for the GMFL and Falcons.
Player requirements:
What we are looking for in a player: dependable, coach able, willing to play out of position.good learning habits, follow rules and carry themselves as respectable young men. You must listen to the Coaches and the Captains and there is only one way on this team and that is the Coaches way.You must be a team player. Support each other and the staff in every aspect of the game, from practice, games, clean up & events (charity, fundraising & banquet) NO NEGATIVITY!!PLEASE DO NOT TRY AND OUT COACH THE HEAD COACH, HE HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR 30+ years AND IT HAS BEEN WORKING. You will need your own equipment Black helmet w/ black facemask, shoulder pads. All other pads are optional. (knee, thigh, hip and tail bone) but recommended. All players must buy there own game pants (BLACK), team will provide game jerseys only!!
Please set up your own rides to practice and to some games (long trips will be arranged by the team)
We are looking for you to commit to this team and believe in our vision for the 2011 season "FALCONS for LIFE" "TEAM UNITY" "FAMILY" "LOYALTY" and "STAYING TOGETHER"
Punctuality: On time to practice, games etc..
Your timely presence is needed at all scheduled events. The league will not tolerate late teams or late players after kickoff.
Communication:
It is very important that you check your email and check in by phone. Email and hotline information is our 1st line of communication 630-901-2092
Text messaging is also acceptable. If you don't have an email or cell phone that receives texts please call the staff or your group Captain.
Team fee:
$150 team fee per player. You will play a lot more games with this team than any other team around.
Fundraisers:
Total mandatory participation is required. With the low team fee,we are going to offset the season’s cost with fundraisers such as jersey sales. raffle ticket, AD book, and T- shirt sales. As long as all players pay their team fee and mandatory fundraising events the season will go along smoothly.Lack of financial commitment may result in the staff finding other ways in making sure the season continues by asking for additional fees on game day.Which is something we all want to avoid this season!!
Charity/family events: We do our best for the community and participate in team blood drives and the St. Baldricks charity.
Rest in Peace #38 JOHN STAMPS
