BATTING ORDER CHANGE: Batting line-ups must alternate positions in the batting order by gender. When the end of the line-up reaches the point at which the team has extra men, continue alternating with girls by restarting the girls line-up (Example A), or use substitutions (Example B).
EXAMPLE A 7 boys and 5 girls line-up
BOYS LINE-UP |
GIRLS LINE-UP |
|
1st batter/15th batter |
Boy 1 |
2nd batter/12th batter/22nd batter |
Girl 1 |
|
3rd batter/17th batter |
Boy 2 |
4th batter/14th batter/24th batter |
Girl 2 |
|
5th batter/19th batter |
Boy 3 |
6th batter/16th batter/26th batter |
Girl 3 |
|
7th batter/21st batter |
Boy 4 |
8th batter/18th batter/28th batter |
Girl 4 |
|
9th batter/23rd batter |
Boy 5 |
10th batter/20th batter |
Girl 5 |
|
11th batter/25th batter |
Boy 6 |
|
|
|
13th batter/27th batter |
Boy 7 |
|
|
Boys bat in order with a girl in between, while girls bat in order with a boy in between. There will not be the same boy/girl in between, but boys batting orders and girls batting orders should remain the same.
----------------------------------
Teams may choose to continue using substitutions if they would like as this meets the requirement for alternating positions in the batting order by gender.
EXAMPLE B

Boy 4 and Boy 5 are substituting with Boy 6 and Boy 7 in the batting line-up and therefore would only bat every other time through the line-up.
