Cortland On 3 Game Win Streak, Penn State NextThe Red Dragons (3-2-0) are coming off a win vs. St. John Fisher Friday down in Scottsville, NY. To add to that, the team is on its longest win streak since last year at 3 games. With wins over Ithaca College and Elmira College as well as St. John Fisher, the Red Dragons improve to 3-2-0 on the season, 1-2-0 in league play. Joe Laffin netted two goals against the Cardinals of St. John Fisher to help the team to a 2-1 victory. Without helpers from Fitzgerald, Olivierio and Giardino, Laffin would have been held scoreless this past game. Matt Scanlan may have made the save of the year with about six seconds remaining in the game to save the Red Dragons and give them the 2-1 victory. The Red Dragons now look to their next game, which is an NECHL matchup against Penn State - Berks. Look for the Red Dragons to come out hard and get payback as the Nittany Ice Lions ended their season last year in the semi-finals in a shootout of the NECHL playoffs. The game begins at 5pm Saturday, 11/7/09. Come on out and root for your Red Dragons as they look to extend their streak to 4. As always, admission is FREE for all. |
