News and Notes (As of 10/14/09)(sorry no new pics)

The game between the #2 Clippers and #1 seed Warriors was a finale fit for a fine season for both teams.  Will Somerindyke and Jon Mappin showed why they're absolute studs and dominated the opposing lineups through seven.  With the score tied at 3, the Warriors capitalized on a couple of walks and timely hits to put the game away.  Congratulations on a unbelievable year to the Warriors, finishing off a stellar campaign through the regular season with a Championship trophy.  Special note goes to the Clippers who fell just short in their own storybook season.

With so much talent displayed on the field, the league is well represented with the Warriors as the champions of the league.  They've maintained a core group of starters and at least a dozen returning players from the first season.   Youthful and talented they'll be a presence in this league for hopefully a long time.  Good luck in the coming seasons to this year's champions.

If you haven't already, you need to check out our stats page.  The talent in this league produced two near triple crowns in offense and pitching.  Mike Zahm had an unbelievable season falling a home run short of the triple crown.  Jon Mappin confused and dominated hitters on his way to leading the league in ERA and strikeouts, second in wins but was undefeated on the season and the playoffs.  Not to mention you can check out the players on your favorite teams and see how they did this year...

After their successful run in Atlantic City, the Virginia Beach Snipers have their scope on Florida.  The crosshairs are on the Snipers though as they now have a tournament win to showcase.  The tournament, on top of the talent we'll be sending, will feature former major and minor leaguers, former collegiate athletes and the grizzled veterans of the tournament circuit.  If you'd like more information, or you'd like to contribute in any way, check out the snipers home page:

Congratulations to Robert Baham, Will Sommerindyke, Wayne Renfrow, Bill Rouse and the Virginia Beach Warriors for setting new league records this season!  Check out our league's record page to see all the updates.

Scheduling

Scheduling is rather difficult at this stage of the season due to field availability.  But that being said, we do have competent leadership arranging for all games to be played in a timely fashion.  Since we are into the playoffs, teams with the higher seed will be home team for remaining schedule.  So if #2 plays #1, #1 will be home team due to higher seed.

Any other queries regarding league scheduling, player, team, or administrative issues contact Brian Conley via email or Sandon Rogers via email.

The HRNABA

This is the HTO page for HRNABA. The HRNABA (Hampton Roads chapter of National Adult Baseball Association) is a league for adults who still wish to play the great game of baseball. The league is for adults 18-???.

The league has four divisions.  Rookie, 18A(American and National), 18AA, and 18AAA.  The divisions are seperated by new teams, player restrictions, and other factors.  Teams generally get 25-30 games per season.  In order to compete in the league, teams must first pay an entrance or league fee.  The fees generally cover items related to on and off field, such as website, baseballs, field maintenance, and other expenses.  Any questions, comments or concerns about league fee and other league issues should contact Brian Conley

Players looking to join the league are welcome to contact Dave Gressens, Head of Player Development, through the message boards.
