Wow the season is over and the #4th rank TANKS, decided they did not like being at the bottom of the league.  first round of the play-offs the Tanks faced off against the streaking Grim Dekers, and the Dekonator fans.  After trying to beat the Grim Dekers all season long, the Tanks were looking at a mountain to climb, and climb they did destroying the Grim Dekers 11-6, led by Ben Imgarten who had 3 goals and 2 assists on the evening, and Captain Tom Jaques who had 2 goals and 3 Assists on the evening.  now the Tanks were playing the waiting game as the second match-up of the evening was between the Grinders and the Tigers. while this one was alot closer,  the Tigers held off the Grinders 7-6.  after the first period the Tigers held onto a 3-1 lead with goals from Evan (Alec Ingal) Thill who ended the night with a hat trick and 1 helper.

Now for the Championship game, Featured the Gritty Tigers against the underdog Tanks.  Well the Tanks proved once again they are not the underdogs, as they blew away the Tigers 11-3.  The Tanks came out and scored 5 goals in the first and 5 goals in the second, led by Brock Gale who finished the night with 3 goals and 3 assists, and Adam Howie Howard finished the night with 2 goals and 4 assists. 

I personally want to thank each and every individual that participated in the league, from the Players, Ref's, Scorekeepers and all the Fans that have supported this league throughout the season.  It is official that the Washington Park Ice Arena will be opening August 1st so it looks like we will be starting our 2nd season of Beef Eaters hockey in the beginning of September.  I did hand out the awards Wed night and if you were not there I will be there on Sunday to hand out the rest of the awards, if you are not there on Sunday I will get in touch with you and find a time to give you your award.  the award winners did recieve a $50.00 credit torwards next seasons fees.  I also want to thank the league for all of you that contributed to a $75.00 gift card to Applebee's for the scorekeepers, they were very suprised and very pleased that we did that for them

Also sunday we will still have ice time from 5:15-6:30 for anyone that wants to show up and play, there will be no ref, it will be a last get together and fun little pick up for who ever wants to come and have fun.
