Please keep in mind:

There are a lot of changes this year in our home meets and we need to be aware of them.  In prior years we swam numerous tri or dual meets.  With a tri or dual meet, there are only two or three teams vying for the top 8 positions  which are the positions that provide points.  This year, have set the schedule up so we are not swimming ANY dual or tri meets, and all of our meets will have 5 or more teams competing.  This means that there are two or three times as many swimmers trying to get those top eight positions, and the competition will be steep!

For those of you who are new to high school swimming, each team is only allowed to enter four swimmers per event for points.  Everyone else must swim exhibition (or not for points).  This means that not only is there no points for 9th place, but if LHS takes 1,2,3,4, & 5, we only get points for the first 4 places.  This rule is designed to level the playing field between large schools with numerous swimmers and smaller schools with smaller numbers.  It also means that our team size will no longer be as large an asset as in previous years.

This year we will also have divers joining the mix.  Diving will be a very important part of our strategy, as at least two other teams have divers as well, so their competition will be fierce.  The same rules apply to diving, only four divers per event for points.
