Tuesday Feb. 21st - First Practice went well, and then U.S. Baseball Camp started. After teaching youngsters how hit, throw, catch and field, the fellas went to Mac's. Captain Bobbo flummoxed his older brother by proclaiming Rob Base and Dj EZ Rock's hit single "It Takes Two" a flop. For some the 80's were just about diapers and lincoln logs. Practice #2 - Sunday 10:15 - 11:45. @ De La Salle High School.
Monday Feb. 13th - Pitchers, Catchers, and anybody that wants to skip Sunday Mass are welcome to come and practice this weekend at De La Salle. 10:30 start time. We will try and get done by 11:45 a.m.
Monday Aug 22nd - Well, the sun did come up today. We go back to our "regular" lives, but I would say we are all thankful for the opportunity to play baseball, compete, and have have fun throughout the summer. I am sure I speak for everybody when I say we thank our families for their understanding and support throughout the summer. It does take a commitment to play this game and we are thankful for our families support and love when we are at the game instead of a wedding, a birthday party, or other important events that we sometimes miss. The Warriors have been around for 39 years and we look to keep this team going for a long time. It has provided an opportunity for men to play ball, display their talents, showcase their competiveness, and be a part of a TEAM in which individuals care about one another. Stay in touch, stay in shape, and we'll see you soon. PYB!!!
Sunday Aug 21st - The Warriors competed until the end, but lost to the Stockmen's Irish 9-5 in the Championship game of the 2011 Class A State Tournament. The Pub was up to the challenge, but fell short as the Irish hit the ball hard and made the plays in the field. Congrats to the Irish as they win their first Class A State title.
Fellas - Great Job, Warriors everywhere are proud as can be. Your preparation in BP helped us to get hot at the right time. Your tenacity and competiveness allowed us to battle and win games even when we were not at full strength. To the guys that did not play everyday, I am appreciative of your ability to put the team first and be a Warrior. Thanks to our great fans, you guys were phenomenal and it was great to share this run with you.
Saturday Aug 20th - Wow! What a day, Warriors win both games in the Saturday Elimination games and are now in the Championship game versus the Stockmen's Irish at Red Haddox field in Bloomington.
First Game - vs. Minnetonka was a barnburner and the Warriors prevailed in 11 innnings 7-6. Billy Meister (W), Brandon Royce-Diop(SV), Jon Hurt (key rbi), Brian Hopkins (HR), Rob Schildgen (Gw Rbi) and Tim Mettert (winning run) were key contributors. The Pub needed everybody as the Millers competed until the final out and showed why they have won 10 titles.
Second Game - The Pub defeat the North End Biscuits 8-2 and advance to the Championship game of the State Tourney. Tony Nault started the Pub off with a 3 Run homer and Jon Hurt finished with a 3 Run homer as the Warriors won both games on Saturday August 20th. Brandon Royce-Diop got the complete game victory and was on base all day as the Warriors stay alive and go on to play in the final game of the 2011 Class A State Tournament.
Thursday Aug 18th - The Warriors got a leadoff homerun from Rob Schildgen and never looked back as they defeated the St. Paul Shamrocks 8-3 on Thursday nght at Dunning Field in St. Paul. Tim Mettert threw a complete game, scattered 10 hits, and escaped a few jams as he won his 2nd game in the State Tournament . The Pub now take on the Minnetonka Millers this Saturday at 12:00 which takes place at Red Haddox this weekend.

Saturday Aug 13th - Pub loses to the Shamrocks 9-7 in their first game of the State Tournament. Jon Hurt hit a 3 run homer in the 1st inning, but the Warriors would give up 4 in the 2nd. The Warriors made too many mistakes and the Shamrocks capitalized. The Pub had chances to take back the lead, but fell short in their comeback attempts. The Pub was relegated to the Hill and not one, but two beer runs.
Sunday Aug 7th - Tonka defeats Pub 7-6 on a double to left-center in the bottom of the 9th. Good tune-up as the Warriors head into the State Tourney. Jon Hurt hit a 2 run homer and had 3 hits. Donny Blunt and Brandon Royce-Diop were on base all night as the Warriors get themselves ready for Game #1 of the State Tournament on Saturday August 13th at 1 p.m. at Red Haddox Field in Bloomington.
Thursday Aug. 4th - Well, Neato. The Warriors advance to the 2011 State Tournament by defeating the Rats 10-1 on Thursday night at Parade Stadium. The Warriors jumped to leads of 4-0 and 6-1, but they still were not in command as the Rats threatened in 5 of the first 7 inings. Pitcher Tim Mettert posted a felonious assault to River Rat bats and helmets, but walks would trouble him (they usually haunt), and he performed his best Houdini act (Harry, not the 80's rap group) and pitched his way out of some tough jams. The Warriors seperated themselves from the Rats on defense and turned 3 inning ending double plays and 2 with the bases loaded. The Warriors extended their lead in the later innings and Ryan Busch closed the door in the 9th innning. The Warrior hitting attack was led by Jon Hurt who was locked in all night thanks to his numerous BP sessions. While not an instant classic as hoped by the underdog Rats, the matchup was a bit of an incestous one with many players laying claim to playing with both teams. The Rats look like a team on the rise and the Warriors congratulate them on getting things moving in the right direction. The Warriors also thank their families and friends for coming out to support the team in the series. Phenomenal, Thank You! The Pub take on the Minnetonka Millers Sunday night at 7:30 in an exhibition game at Veterans Stadium. First State Tournament game: Saturday August 13th @ 1 p.m. - Red Haddox Field.
Tuesday Aug. 2nd - The Warriors defeated the River Rats 4-1 behind the pitching of Billy Meister. The Pub cobbled together 4 runs on 8 hits and scored just enough to secure a victory in the first game of a 2 out of 3 series. Meister ecaped a few jams and the Warriors came out on top. Jeff Clabots, Sam Richey, and Brandon Royce-Diop delivered key rbi hits in the tightly contested ballgame. If the Warriors win on Thursday they advance to the 2011 State Tournament. BP - 5:15 at De La Salle.
Tuesday July 26th - The Warriors defeat the Blue Sox 9-0 to clinch the Park National League title. The Pub will play the lowest seeded team from the single-elimination playoffs that take place on Saturday July 30th. The Warriors will play the first game of a 2 out 3 series on Monday August 1st at 7:00 at Parade Stadium.
Sunday July 24th - The Warriors went to Princeton and defeated the Panthers 5-3. Tim Mettert threw a gem and the Marcus O'Neill had a 2 Rbi double as the Pub got back in the win column on Sunday night.
Thursday July 21st - The Warriors drop a tough one to Eagan 4-3 in 12 innings on Thursday night in Eagan. Pitchers Joel Huningan, Jason Kickhafer and Nate Jackson pitched very well. Sam Richey made 2 great plays in left field and Brian Hopkins hit a bomb for the Pub. The Warriors continue their non-conference trek with a game versus Princeton on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
Monday July 18th- The Warriors lose 5-0 to the American Pie Patriots. The Pub was handcuffed all night long and they now need a win tonight to stay in the hunt for the Park National League title. The Pats were on their game and were solid in all facets of play. In the parking lot, a few players learned the term "slow play" in regards to the authorities who may or may not be in charge of parking lot supervision. We learned that if you stay late enough some random guy will show up (never fails) and ask for something, in this case it was just water. Do not drink the water too fast, and if you are really hot, just pour it over your head. Life lessons that one can only learn in The Lot. Game tonight vs. Blue Sox 8:30 p.m. @ Parade. No need to carry anything over, To quote Earl Weaver, "this ain't football, we do this every darn day." Bp - De La Salle 6:30 - optional.
Sunday July 17th - The Pub wins a battle of attrition with the Rocks 3-2 in 10 innings. Pitcher Billy Meister buckled down and kept the Rocks at bay while the Warrior hitters sized up Rocks pitcher Kirby Morsch for 8 innings(after scoring 2 in the 1st) and delivered a run in the top of the 10th on a STEAMY Sunday afternoon at Parade Stadium. Brandon Royce-Diop led off the 10th with a double and scored the game winning run on a Tony Nault single in extra innings. Rocks slugger Luke Sather made the Pub hold their breath in the bottom of the 10th, but B-Roy tracked the ball down in deep center to preserve the win. Game tonight 8:30 vs. American Pie Patriots @ Parade. Optional Bp - De La Salle 6:45.
Tuesday July 12th - Warriors lose 4-1 to the Cobras. Ben Shroeder had the Warriors off balance all evening long. Cobras took advantage of Pub mistakes and played well in the field. The Warriors now take on the American Pie Patriots on Friday night at 8:30, which will go a long way towards determining the Park National champ.
Friday July 8th - Ahhh!!! Frustration sets in at Miesville. Warriors outhit Mudhens 14 -5 yet lose 8-3. Just one of those days.... I guess. All the Warriors could do was drink their beer, give credit to Miesville, and laugh about the umpire, he will make a team pay for disagreeing with one of his calls. Just ask him. Almost went undefeated against the Cannon Valley, but the Hens were too tough on this night. B-Roy looked good and Bobbo was a triple away from the cycle. Not a bad run for the Pub the last two weeks though. 7 out of 8 and doing it with an assortment of line-ups as well. Next up, Cobras Tuesday at Parade. 6:15 p.m.
Thursday July 7th - The Warriors settled the score in a big way against the Lakers in a Park National showdown Thursday evening at Parade Stadium. Tim Mettert gave up 1 run through 5 ininngs as the Pub defeated the Lakers 13-1 and improved to 10-2 in league play. Tony Nault sent a souvenir to the Sculpture Garden and cleared the bases with a grand slam. Warriors were on base all day as former coach Eugene "Mooney" Green delighted in the team's success. The Warriors have been rolling in the lot as well as the field, but as this writer left the lot, it was going to take more than normal effort to outlast the bags-throwing Lakers. Definitely ok, as the Warriors take on Miesville and former Pub standout Garret Retka at 8:00 p.m. tonight in a game where the Warriors look to clear their good name after a rough outing last year.
Wednesday July 6th - The Warriors took a road trip to Cannon Falls and defeated the Bears 14-6. Jarron Farah got the complete game as he threw about a months worth of pitches to rest the Warriors bullpen. Andy Schaeffer hit a 3-run homer and the Warriors pounded out 17 hits in a game that saw numerous Warriors have multi-hit games. The Warriors made it home safe, barely, and got a tour of the strip malls in Bloomington. Tonight Lakers - 6:15 @ Parade... Be there.
Tuesday July 5th - It was Deja Vu' all over again as Billy Meister matched up with Merchants lefty Dave Laukkonen. Fans got some extra baseball as the Pub needed 8 innings to break through against Laukkonen and get a 2-0 win. Tony Nault and Sam Richey delivered key rbi singles and Billy Meister pitched another scoreless inning to get the complete game shutout. Yes, he did. Jeff Clabots confessed to a numerous amount of mistakes in the parking lot and if anyone found keys that belong to a Chevy Impala please bring them to Cannon Falls tonight. - Start time - 7:30 p.m.
Friday July 1st - The Pub went down to Hastings and defeated the Hawks 3-1 in a game that was called in the top of the 6th due to rain. J.D. Scholten picked up the win and Sam Richey got a big hit to power the Warriors to victory. Green Mill - Hastings- Definitely not the Pub, but we thank the Hawks for their hospitality. Next up - Tuesday July 5th Merchants - 8:30 - Parade.
Thursday June 30th - The Warriors outlasted the Angels 9-7 in a key Park National League matchup on Thursday evening. The game was a seesaw affair that tested the mettle of both teams. The Pub scored 3 runs in the 6th inning to grab the lead from the Angels for the second time. Nate Jackson had 4 rbi and came up big on numerous occasions. Jeff Clabots had 3 rbi and ran the bases with reckless abandon. The defense for the Pub was strong and Tim Mettert battled his way through 6 innings. Ryan Busch came in to close the game in the 7th as the Pub saw their record improve to 8-2 in the parity filled Park National League. Next Up - Hastings - Tonight - 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday June 29th - The Pub posted a 4-1 victory over the Metro Merchants on a warm June night at Parade Stadium. Billy Meister was in command the whole way as he no-hit the Merch for 5 innings before gving up hit in the 6th. Meister and his left arm look strong as he makes his way into the dog days of July. Brian Hopkins showed his love for his new spot in the order and collected 3 hits on the evening. Third baseman Donny Blunt hit a solo shot that ended up in the Dunwoody pond. Rosters were turned in to league secretary Jon-Eric Urseth, and GM's all over the league breathed a sigh of relief after the last 2-3 days of releases, new contracts, and defections (and possible defections) were sorted out. Next up for equipment managers: the returning of uniforms. As Bart Scott said, " Can't Wait."
Tuesday June 28th - Just when you think that you are getting your monies worth as a Minneapolis taxpayer or rental customer, you become sorely mistaken. Overworked and underpaid are not 2 adjectives one would use to describe our Fort Snelling grounds crew. The Warriors got the field ready and defeated the Edina Esox 9-1 on a warm tuesday evening at the Friendly Confines of Neiman Field.(Not really Friendly or inexpensive for that matter) Joel Huningan. Jarron Farrah, and Brandon Royce-Diop came together to shut down the Esox on one of the most historical sites in the state of Minnesota. Tony Nault and Nate Jackson continued to hit the ball hard as Rob Schildgen improved to 4-0 as manager.
Thursday June 23rd Warriors lose to the Rats 7-5..Ish One had a feeling it was going to be a bad day when Aaron Clark of the Rats scored on a pick-off attempt to to second base. Thiings went downhill from there. The Warriors mounted a couple rallies but were thwarted by a cadre of Rats pitchers
Tuesday June 21st - The Warriors went to Chaska and defeated the Cubs 6-2 in a non-conference game on the first day of summer in 2011. Billy Meister delivered another superb pitching performance and Brandon Royce-Diop was back to hitting the ball hard. Rob Schildgen improved to 3-0 as manager of the Warriors on the season.
Sunday June 19th - Happy Father's Day! The Pub defeated a Park National foe, The Minneapolis Lakers 6-3 on a Sunday afternoon in Victoria. Tim Mettert went all nine ininngs and battled his way to get the Warriors a W in the third place game of the Victoria Tournament. Donny Blunt and Tony Nault (Sadaharah Oh) went yard for the Warriors as they wrapped up their weekend in Victoria. Jeff Clabots had three hits and picked up 2 RBI as he continues to hit the ball hard. Special thanks to Mike Poppitz for hosting the tourney. The field was in great shape and both hitters and pitchers asked if Mike can come down to Parade to help the crew out with the batter's box and mound. Mike said thanks, but no thanks. He doesn't want to pay $3.50 to park and his have his truck wrecked in a pothole incident. Also, the Warriors added a new fan Casey who got himself hopped up on candy and went home with a Warriors hat circa 2010.
Saturday June 18th - The Warriors split a doubleheader on their first day of the Victoria Tournament at Poppitz Field. The first game saw the Pub get no-hit through 5 innings before Rob Schildgen slapped a single to right. Jon Hurt then smashed a 2 run homer as the Warriors defeated the feisty Metro Merchants in a 2-1 game that took 1:15 to play. Pitcher Jaron Farah was nothing short of masterful as he held the Merchants at bay all game.
- The second game of the afternoon saw the Warriors fall to the 10 time State Champion Minnetonka Millers 7-2. Millers shortstop Joe Schallenberger hit a grand slam as the Millers handily defeated the Warriors. What will it take for the Warriors to defeat the Millers?? More hits, less errors, and less home runs allowed. This writer knows it's easier said than done, but fans have been getting anxious. I think Ric Flair said it best when he stated, "If you want to be the man, you got to beat the man." (Styling and profiling not included.)
Friday June 17th - The Warriors defeat the Blue Sox 8-2 in a somewhat non-descript Friday night game that saw newcomer Joel Huningan get his first action on the hill as a Warrior. The game will be remembered by Pub guys as Beer Can Heaven. In a startling move at the South End of the Parking Lot, Park National teams littered the Lot with empties. One can only assume it was a charitable gesture on the part of P-Nash teams who figured the Beer Can fairy was going to come pick them up and cash them in for money.
Wednesday June 15th - WHEW! The Warriors hang on to defeat the Minneapolis Rocks 4-3 in game that the Warriors almost gave to the Rocks, only to take it right back with a couple key defensive plays. Sam Richey had a 2 RBI double and Billy Meister pitched another solid game as the Warriors moved to 5-1 in Park National play.
Next up - Friday June 17th @ Parade vs. Blue Sox. Game time 8:30.
Monday June 13th - The batting order was followed, but John Brisky was not in Dundas. The Warriors won a tightly contested 3-2 ballgame over the Dundas Dukes on a beautiful June night in Dundas, Minnesota. Tim Mettert was in control the whole way and gained momentum as the game meandered into the later innings. Joel Huningan got the game winning RBI in the 9th inning on a Sac Fly that scored Jeff Clabots who got on 1st base via error. Mettert shut the door in the 9th as he snuffed out a late Dundas rally with a strikeout to end the game.
* Upcoming Game* -Rocks - Wednesday - 6/15 - Parade. Gametime - 6:15 p.m.
Sunday June 12th - The Warriors got an early lead and never looked back on their way to a 5-3 victory over the American Pie Patriots on a calm and relaxed Sunday afternoon. With both teams playing line-ups that were a little different of what we'll see in late July/August, the Pub got an outstanding pitching performance from Tim Duffy. Tim Mettert and Sam Richey got big hits as the Pub improved to 4-1 in league play. Post-game festivities are still going on as this goes to print, but we hope the Warriors get some food in their system as Donny Blunt's barrel goes to good use and the Warriors enjoy their Sunday afternoon.. evening.. night.
*Upcoming Games* See ya tomorrow in Dundas. 7:30 Gametime - Be there @ 6:30. Fitness night. Warriors plan to bat in order and maybe even bring John Brisky. Ok, 1 out of 2 ain't bad.
Thursday June 9th - The Warriors staked All-Time Warrior Dean Johnson to a 5-0 lead and traded rallies with the host Victoria Vic's in a 13-7 victory, on an unseasonably cool evening at Poppitz Field in Victoria. The Pub threw four pitchers in a game that saw the Warriors play solid defense and take advantage of some uncharacteristic Victoria errors. Joel Huningan and Ryan Busch got key hits in a big 7th inning that saw the Warriors plate 6 runs. Tim Duffy finished the game with a quick and effective 2 innings that put an end to any thought of a Vic's comeback.
*Upcoming Games* Sunday June 12th - The Warriors take on the league-leading American Pie Patriots and all their old teammates at 12:00 at Parade Stadium. Get your popcorn ready, because it will be a reunion of sorts. Nothing like free agency to give a great Park National rivalry even more intrigue. Bring your dogs, burgers, and beer for some post-game festivities. BP - Bryn Mawr - 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday June 8th - The Warriors fall to 3-1 in Park National play as the Lakers showcase their youth and athleticism in a 5-1 victory over the Pub. Not much to say except that the new hats came in and well, that's about it.
Tonight the Warriors travel to Victoria to take on the Vic's at Poppitz Field. Game time 7:30 p.m.
Monday June 6th - The Warriors fill the roster and the win column by defeating the Cobras 4-1 on a sultry Minnesota evening at Parade Stadium. It was so hot, the voice of Park National Baseball, Mike Castle would not leave his palatial press box surroundings to b.s. with the guys. With a near record 21 guys at Parade Stadium warming up, the Warriors scrambled for uniforms, (hats especially) and battled their way to an early season Park National win against veteran Matt Germar and the Cobras. Newcomer Tim Mettert threw a 2 hitter and Nate Jackson had a key 2 RBI hit as the Warriors finally broke through against Germar.
