Grinding it out

V-V-V-VICTORY

It was a cold and shiver inspiring wind that nearly froze out the Warriors, but the determination to win lifted Troy to a 2-1 win in 8 innings against Pacifica.

Strong pitching from Cody Smith, Cameron Ochoa and Scott Blumer held the Mariners at bay.  Smith pitched the first 4 innings and Ochoa the middle 3 to get the win.  Scott Blumer came in to face Pacifica's 3-4-5 hitters in the bottom of the 8th inning and Blumer slammed to the door shut.  Stephen Sauter drove in Sam Kemp in the top of the 8th to give the Warriors the advantage.

Congratulations Warriors!

AND THE WINNING TICKET IS...

Wendi McCluer was the owner of ticket (and ball #169) that was deemed the closest to the marked X on the field.

When we called out Wendi's name there were no screams, ooh's or ah's  echoing throughout the school.

Why might you ask? Because the seller of the ticket, Cameron Ochoa (and his parents David and Alice) were at the wedding of the holder of the winning ticket.

Wendi and her husband are off to Palm Springs now to celebrate their honeymoon with a few extra sheckles in their pocketbook to enjoy the experience! Such a nice side story to a special day for everyone.
