Strong pitching and some clutch hitting keyed the Troy Warrior's 3-2 win over Laguna Hills on Saturday. The Warriors won 4 of the 5 games they played in the Newport Elks Tournament and are off to a solid start for 2010.
Junior left-hander Jake Byrens got the win, pitching 4+ innings. Cameron Ochoa got the "hold" (not a high school stat) and Scott Blumer faced the final 3 hitters and struck-out all 3 for his second save. The game winning 3 RBI's came from RF Tyler Rodas, 3B Stephen Sauter and 1B Sam Kemp.
Freeway League play begins Friday, March 19th at the WarriorDome. The Warriors will face Fullerton followed by Sunny Hills (Wednesday) and then La Habra (Friday).
Congratulations Warriors! |
