Eagles Drop Close One To South Charleston
Maybe winning at South Charleston just isn't meant to be. The Eagles held a 14 point advantage in the third quarter but were unable to hold on as South Charleston stormed back to take a 71-68 win over Beckley on Saturday night. Woodrow has not won at South Charleston since 1996.
South Charleston raises its record to 18-3 on the year with the win. The Black Eagles were led by Trevond Reese who poured in a game high 20 points. Ot Elmore finished with 15 while AD Cunningham chipped in with 14. South Charleston hit 52% (28-54) from the field, 30% (3-10) from beyond the arc, and 67% (12-18) from the charity stripe.
Woodrow falls to 16-5 on the year with the tough loss. The Eagles were led by Cameron Shannon who finished with 17 points on the night. Larry Terry was on fire and finished with 14 points while Matt Potter chipped in with 13. The Eagles hit 45% (25-55) from the field, 50% (7-14) from beyond the arc, and 69% (11-16) from the charity stripe.
Beckley is now off again until Saturday night when the Eagles play host to Robert C. Byrd in the season finale.

Cameron Shannon is the Player of the Game in the 71-68 loss to South Charleston on Saturday night. Shannon led the Eagles with a team-high 17 points on the night.
