Colorado 19AAA's take Bronze at USA Tier I Nationals in Green Bay

After a fantastic season that saw Colorado Select U19AAA's peaking at the right time to enter the USA Natioanl Tier I Tournament, the girls earned bronze and left Green Bay, Wisconsin with a mixture of emotion.  It was a special season comprised of great memories with many of the girls having played together since U12 and before.

The tournament started with Colorado dominating opponents and outscoring them 21 - 1 in the first 2 and a half games.  Then a key injury to the Colorado goalie during the 3rd game of pool play, (NJ Rockets) left the girls with no regularly rostered goalie.  Thankfully, Nicole Hemsley, a reserve goalie from a Colorado boys team, came in and played great.  After going undefeated and capturing the #1 seed in the U19Division, Colorado went on behind stellar goalie play, to defeat NSA in double overtime and thus, set up a semi-final rematch against Shattuck St. Mary's.

A back and forth scoring match had Colorado in the lead for a while at 4-3, but unfortunately a trip to the final was not to be.  With a final score of 7-4, Colorado had to bow out with a 3rd place finish.

Thank you ladies for a fantastic year and good luck as you continue your hockey and academic adventures next year!
