Canadian VBC Falls in Finals at Syracuse Tournament

November 8, 2008 - Canadian went to Syracuse, NY with expectations of winning (something this group hasn't been able to do since 2004). But it was not to be this year. Canadian lost to Legion VBC in two straight games in the finals, in scores I'd rather not mention.

Canadian was seeded second overall in the tournament behind Legion, which won the tournament last year. Canadian went 7-1 in pool play to finish first in their pool. Ithica, Albany, Buffalo B all lost two gmes to Canadian. A local men's team was able to steal the last game in the pool from Cnadian.

Canadian was given a bye for the first two rounds of playoffs....probably not a good thing. In the quaterfinals, Canadian made short work of Cornell 25-17. Then they faced Boomers Bangers in the Semis. It wasn't easy, but Canadian dispatched them in two straight. The final was not even a contest. Canadian was just tired and mentally never in the game.

Thanks to Peg Defuria for another great tournament.

Canadian VBC Getting Ready For Home Tournament

11/14/08

Canadian VBC will host the first annual Canadian VBC Preseason Tournament this Saturday at Council Rock High School South.

This should be one of the top preseason tournaments in PA this year. The tournament boasts a long list of superb men's teams including Creole, Indian Valley, Angry Dragons, Juniata Alumni, Maryland X-Terps, and Benchwarmers.

Also, three DIII college varsity teams will make an appearance: Hunter College, Philadelphia Biblical Universiy, and Stevens Tech.

Look for this to be a spectacular tournament, where any team has  chance to win.
