News and Notes

Congratulations to Leon Schabacker of the Pitbulls who won this week's Player of the Week award.  Leon had 2 home runs in game two and fell just short of a third and pitched well enough to earn the victory.  He added two other hits in game one and had a total of 7 RBI on the day.  He'll receive an award marking the achievement and a pair of batting gloves.

Sunday Updates(6/28):  Aint No Mountain High Enough:  Clippers(16-1) sweep the US Navy(6-13) team in two games at Green Run High School.  Player of the Week for 6/21 Bill Rouse upped his league leading win total to 9-0 during game two.......  Third Base Coach is Like a Windmill:  Senators(14-4) keep scoring and keep shutting down other teams.  Senators continued this pattern against the Cottnmouths(3-12) this weekend with a sweep.  Logan Carraway and Greg McMakin had 10 RBI between them.... Rollin on the RiverWater Treatment Facility:  Titans(10-4) split with Islanders(8-10) at Lake Taylor, both games saw the victor scoring double digits. Game two had Jason Martino holding the Islanders to 2 runs for the complete game victory......  Message Boards Go Silent:  Pitbulls(12-6) put up 28 runs in two games against the Mets(6-11).  To their credit, the Mets did not let up despite being down in both games, scoring late inning runs to keep rallies alive.  Leon Schabacker told his team to give him two runs and he did the rest.  Game two he had 5 RBI and accounted for 6 of the Pitbulls 12 runs, along with picking up the win from the mound .... Division Battle Ensues:  With the Brewers sweeping and retaining first place in the 18A National, the Padres(9-8) and Black Sox(7-11) game was a battle for second place in the division.   The Padres handed two losses to the Black Sox and are now over .500.  Roy Dodson added 3 RBI during game one for the Padres......

Scheduling

Managers, please pay attention to Home vs. Away on the schedule when playing Double Headers.  It creates scoring conflicts when games are played opposite of schedule.  Rule of thumb:  Host Field Team will be home in Game 2 (e.g. T-Rock will be Home team in Game 2 when games are at Trant, Senators will be home team in Game 2 when games are at Maury).

Any other queries regarding league scheduling, player, team, or administrative issues contact Brian Conley via email or Sandon Rogers via email.

The HRNABA

This is the HTO page for HRNABA. The HRNABA (Hampton Roads chapter of National Adult Baseball Association) is a league for adults who still wish to play the great game of baseball. The league is for adults 18-???.

The league has four divisions.  Rookie, 18A(American and National), 18AA, and 18AAA.  The divisions are seperated by new teams, player restrictions, and other factors.  Teams generally get 25-30 games per season.  In order to compete in the league, teams must first pay an entrance or league fee.  The fees generally cover items related to on and off field, such as website, baseballs, field maintenance, and other expenses.  Any questions, comments or concerns about league fee and other league issues should contact Brian Conley

Players looking to join the league are welcome to contact Dave Gressens, Head of Player Development, through the message boards.
