What is Spring Recreation Softball?

The Taunton Girls Softball Spring Recreational program is composed of five divisions divided up by ASA ages with our mission being to promote, supervise, and develop the skills necessary to play competitive softball through positive reinforcement and good sportsmanship, regardless of a player's ability.  Spring Recreation is a casual and fun environment for players of all abilities. Teams are balanced and coaches try to balance playing time equally among all players.

Spring player evaluations for girls moving into or have never played in the Minor, Junior or Senior division will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2019. Player evaluations are for placement purposes only and all girls who register will be placed on a spring recreation team.

It is important to register early. The number of teams we can form depends upon the availability of fields and coaches. If you would like to coach, please be sure to indicate such on the registration form and you will also need to complete the CORI Acknowledgement Form and send us a copy of your driver's license or state issued picture ID (by postal mail or email it to our registrar).

Spring Recreational League Player Evaluations

Player Evaluations for Minor, Junior and Senior Divisions will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 11am-5pm, by age group (specific times TBD) at Friedman Middle School. Player Evaluations are for team placement purposes only and all girls registered by March 10, 2019 will be selected for a team. Girls only need to attend the player evaluations if they are moving up to a new division (Minor, Junior or Senior) or have never played a season in their appropriate division. If they were on a team last year and are staying in that division then they do not need to attend the player evaluation and just need to register and make note on the registration form of their Spring, 2018 team.

There are no player evaluations for Instructional A, Instructional B, and Farm divisions and all girls will be placed on teams.

Fee Waiver Available

Softball can be an expensive sport to participate in, especially for families with multiple children playing in the league. The Taunton Girls Softball League has a fee waiver program in place to help families in need meet the costs of playing recreational softball.  Fee Waivers are available for both of our Spring Recreational and Fall Recreational softball programs.  More info...
