There will be 2 or more tryouts that you are advised to attend for consideration of making the rep roster.
Players that make the final roster will be notified via email or will get a call from the Coach.
GladiatorS Basketball Club Rep program season goes to 2024-2025 start after the OBA tryout and concludes after the OBA Provincial Championship (normally held between April-June, depending on the age group). As a member of this program, both parents/guardians and players must understand the shared commitment and responsibility. Parents must ensure that their child can attend all practices, games, tournaments and possible fundraising events. Players must respect their coaches and teammates at all times. Discipline and hard work is emphasized and expected. As we say, “ Hard Work…Pays Off”. Parents/Guardians are required to attend any team scheduled meetings a team may have.
The registration fee for our Rep program is $1450 (see what's included below). Plus initial $300 (cash only) for tournaments and exhibition games funds that will stay in your team. The initial ($300) tournament funds will be the funds your coach will use to buy tournaments and games in the begining of the season. Tournaments, Exhibition games, hotels, meals are all extra. Please read the details below on what is included in the registration fee. Tournaments and ex. game are extra and the funds stay within the team (team Manager) . Fees are due on the team registration day, but arrangements can be made for those who are in unique circumstances. We can also make arrangements for the tournament fee if necessary. Uniforms, any apparel or promotions will not be given or ordered if registration fees are outstanding/not paid in full. Travel and accommodation costs (ex. Hotel/Gas) are parents/player responsibilities. We accept CASH, EMT, Credit Card or Debit are subject to 3.5% surcharge.
Please note that tournament & ex. games funds are needed to secure an exhibition games and tournaments.
There will be NO REFUNDS after committing to the team as all the funds will be used. Players that have not submitted any fees will not be allowed to practice nor play in any games.
What’s included in the registration fee:
In the event of a team fundraising, Parents/ Guardians/Players MUST participate. These funds can be used for more tournaments or other team activities. Managers/parents/guardians are encouraged to help organize fundraising events for their respective teams.
Ontario Basketball Association has EQUAL PLAYING TIME for the Novice (U10) to Major Atom(U12) divisions and OPEN SUBSTITUTION for the Bantam (U13) to Junior (U19) divisions.
Equal Playing Time Level: (U10-U12): Each player is required to play a minimum amount of 4 minute shifts that is dependent on the final roster number. The game consists of eight 4 minute shifts, running time.
Open Substitution Level: (U13-U19): Distribution of playing time is determined by the coach, therefore, playing time in most cases may not be equal for all the players. Playing time is earned through hard work/dedication, being coachable as well as a great teammate, smart play and great attitude. Show the coach that you deserve to play! Each game consists of 4 quarters, eight minutes each, stop time.
Our coaches are committed to help players develop their skills at a competitive level.
Coaches also have the right to give a disciplinary action for any misconduct (both players and parents/guardians).
All of our Rep Coaches, Assistants, Managers are all VOLUNTEERS.
