Amador Valley d. Granada: Behind 59 assists from setter Kelsey Williams and 28 kills from hitter Nikki Baker, the Dons clinched the EBAL title with a 31-29, 21-25, 25-16, 25-14 win over the visiting Matadors.
Granada (20-6, 10-3 EBAL) made it tough for the first two games, but Amador Valley (25-7, 13-0) kept its perfect league record intact by dominating late.
"I felt like we started a little shaky because we were very pumped up for this match and maybe a little nervous," Baker said. "We knew Granada was going to be a tough challenge, but we settled in and finished strong."
Granada used 21 assists, 13 digs, six blocks and five kills from Devin Shaver to give the Dons their toughest league test of the season.
"They definitely made some errors that helped us out in games one and two," Granada coach Toni Templeman said. "That normally doesn't happen with them. They played better in the last two games and for us, our passing broke down."
