Angel Babies-Performance team
This special program is taught in a nurturing environment designed to ignite a flame for dance in our “littlest angels” ages 2 ˝ - 4. The class is designed to teach students the basic motor skills (skipping, jumping, turning) beat and musical rhythm, flexibility skills, basic floor patterns, entry-level dance routines, and stage presence.

The Angel Babies will perform at least five times during the season to show adoring fans their progress in concepts of self-awareness, creative expression, self-confidence and teamwork!  They always steal the show at the Suns game!!  Performing Babies must attend two classes per week.

Performance Teams

Dancers who are on a performance team at Arizona Angels practice twice per week.  The teams are determined by age; Angel Babies 2-4, Bronze 5-7, Silver teams 8-12. Performance Teams do not compete, but they do perform a lot!  During the course of the season, Performance team members will perfect numerous routines! We love to share our talents at sporting events, charity events, schools, and of course Disneyland!

Angels on performance teams will be exposed to a combination class format including; ballet technique, jazz floor work, hip hop, acrobatic skills and pom.  Many dancers are promoted to a competition team after only one year on a performance team.  Costuming is required for these teams.  Auditions / private evaluation are required for team placement.

Ballet

Ballet is a classical form of dance that provides a strong, solid technical base for all other dance forms.  The class consists of barre, center floor, and progressions across the floor combinations and choreography.

Miss Lili is heading up our Ballet training, coming to us with years of experience from the Royal Ballet Academy of London. A special audition is required to participate in Miss Lili’s class.  Miss Drea, Miss Danielle and Miss Caitlyn and Miss Kiera are all amazing Ballet instructors as well. Ballet instruction is offered as part of the weekly curriculum for all competition team members, and as a segment of each combination class.

Jazz

This very popular, energetic, stylish dance form is derived from basic ballet movements and skills.  Our jazz classes incorporate; a through warm up, followed by technique, across the floor combinations and choreography. Competition dancers on a Jazz team will also rehearse their professionally choreographed routine during each class.

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is a highly emotional dance form that incorporates ballet and jazz movements to tell a story.  The choreography allows the freedom for each dancer to use their emotions and spirit to bring the piece to life.

Hip Hop
This energy charged dance style has evolved from break dancing, free style, street dancing, urban and jazz into one of today most popular dance forms.  Hip- hop is so much fun!  We currently have five competitive hip- hop teams.  Combination classes incorporate hip- hop in each class, and Intro to hip- hop is also available.
