Amy,
I just had to take a minute and send you an email to let you know how proud we are to be "Angels"! Since we started at angels 4 years ago, I have always known you are a hard worker, it is CLEAR! You set out to accomplish something
whether it is to get the girls to the white house or at the front of the disney parade and you make sure that they show up CONFIDENT, READY and DESERVING of these things and in turn these girls learn what hard work is all about and how you earn things, not just get them because they are deserving of them. One of the things that I love SO much about Angels is how you prepare these girls for everything, you make them responsible, this wonderful trait does not just help with DANCE but with everything... I have had SO many parents of older Angles tell me that as busy as their Angel daughter was, she was always the one who never missed assignments at school, was always better prepared and rarely forgot school work and most of that was all learned through valuable lessons at Angels..:" If you show up without your costume hat YOU CANT PERFORM ". (-: Although so much of your work was being done "behind the scenes"
before... now faced with trying economic times has forced you to reinvent the wheel a bit and get back out into the studio.
I have always had the highest amount of respect for you, for what you started with and what you have turned that company into. It is remarkable and should never be forgotten or go unknown to people... ANGELS is truly proof that hard work and determination pay off and its success is from your blood, sweat and tears. These trying economic times have made many families struggle to keep their children in angels, and/or make the sacrifice to start sending them there so that they can be in a wonderful atmosphere. I am certain that seeing you in the studio making your own sacrifices, working you tail off and LITERALLY putting your blood, sweat and tears into it right in front of our eyes is only gaining the respect from the new families that maybe do not know your story. The hard work you have put into that business in the last 6 months is INCREDIBLE! When so many business owners are throwing in the towel you refuse to roll over and let the economy get the best of your dream. Instead you see an opportunity and fly with it. In June we left for San Diego and there were 5-6 kids on some teams and we come back and some have doubled in size... Again, while so many are giving up, you are growing! It is remarkable. I just had to let you know once again how much we respect you and Angels and how happy we are to have our daughter in a place that teaches not through just TELLING but SHOWING how hard work and determination can accomplish anything.
See you tomorrow for disney practice and again on sunday for makeup....(-:
Hi Amy!
You are so kind to take the time from your busy schedule to write! We truly miss Arizona Angels! We are so proud of you for receiving the Best of Scottsdale Award! I love your web page - it makes it easy to try to keep up with your busy schedules and to see all the beautiful photos; Amy you are gorgeous as always - you never age!. It looks like the studio has grown in so many ways!
Kelsey is a sophomore at USC and loving life! She has taken some dance classes, but has gotten so busy that she felt she couldn't devote the time to the dance team so didn't try out. I am very proud of her - she remains on the Dean's List every semester. She had a very adventurous summer doing volunteer work in Croatia and doing crazy things like hang-gliding off of very high mountains, canyoning & rock-climbing, & wave-boarding down white water rapids with nothing but a helmet & wet suit on! I am keeping busy and am heading to Guatemala in the morning for a medical mission trip.
Amy, I can't thank you enough for all that you have done for Kelsey and hundreds of others. I wish I could find the college entrance essay that she wrote about how dance taught her about values, striving for a goal, persistence, hard work, & learning to how to handle both victory and disappointment in life. It is amazing how the effect you have on peoples' lives which you may not see in the present, reaps incredible rewards in the future! I am so glad that Arizona Angels was a part of both of our lives!
Wishing you another successful year (congratulations on your 20th)! Shirley
Hi Amy
OMG soooo cute!!! I love the dances so far. They are so darling. I cant say enough about how wonderful you guys are. I feel so blessed to have found you. What wonderful childhood memories this is going to create for Jazlyn. It is so wonderful to have her be around so many positive happy people. I know that she is going to love dance even more because of the spirit that you bring to it. I think I am one of many that can be your biggest cheerleader.
Thank you thank you thank you for all you and Angel do. Jazlyn and I are so happy to be a part Arizona Angels.

?Miss Amy's Extreme Flexibility class brought me to an entire new level of stretch. Each week I could feel my muscles slowly releasing and becoming more flexible. I could also feel my jumps getting higher, and my turns becoming more controlled. The class even strengthens and lengthens muscles that I never even knew existed?!

My daughter has completely loved being a part of the Tiny Team at Arizona Angels. We have seen an amazing transformation in just a years time. Not once did she say she didn't want to attend class or a competition! She is constantly practicing her kicks and dances around showing off her dance moves to everyone. We are looking forward to being a part of this incredible team again next year! -Saryn Johnson - "Tiny" Mommy
An excerpt from an e-mail from a former Arizona Angel dancer after finding out she made the Dance Team at the University of Michigan:
Ok so here's some stuff i just found out. Only 5 new girls made the team and there were 63 girls who showed up to the original audition, then they cut it to 30, then picked 5. Some of the girls come from some of the best high school dance teams in the nation including Assumption, Chippewa, Sacred Heart, and Palos Verdes. We do everything from football games, basketball games, pep assemblies, fundraisers, charities, a lot to help out the community. We compete in Hip Hop and Jazz at the UDA College Nationals in Orlando which is two weeks b4 hs nationals every year.
I never could have done this without Arizona Angels and especially you Amy, so I really wanted to thank you for all your support, love, and encouragement over the years!!! I learned from the best and now I get to dance among some of the most talented girls I have ever met, and I am so grateful for all the opportunities you have provided for me that helped me achieve this goal!!! I love you!!! and the ENTIRE Angels family!!!!
XOXOXOXOX love always and forever!!! Corey Allan University of Michigan, Class of 2012 Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Science Kappa Kappa Gamma, Beta Delta Chapter
As soon as we walked into Arizona Angels, I knew I had found the perfect dance studio for my girls. Each and every student had huge smiles on their faces. Miss Amy, Miss Angel, (and all the staff) are so dedicated, so caring and so talented. My children have developed not only terrific dance skills, they have gained so much confidence and are also exposed to life skills. By participating on a team, they are learning how to be team players. By participating in fundraisers, they are learning about charity. Arizona Angels is a wonderful community for my children and for us as a family."

My daughter started with Arizona Angels when she had just turned 4, she had been to one other studio but at each class only stood on the side and watched, too nervous to even practice. After only a few classes at the Angels studio, she began to practice, smile and look forward to coming back...two and a half years later she LOVES dance and the entire studio, to the point that she wants to be there EVERY DAY! Arizona Angels has given her so much more than just DANCE, she is developing great self esteem, poise and has been given the most incredible opportunities to go before thousands of people and perform. Now at 6 years old she is developing fantastic friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. Arizona Angels is such a wonderful environment for all children! In addition to dancing they are taught to respect each other, their instructors and themselves... they all work very hard together and they have a lot of fun together too!"

As a choreographer and dance instructor, my work has enabled me to travel all over the world observing many different dance studios, teachers, and studio owners. Arizona Angles is bar none one of the best studios in not only the United States, but the world. Amy Leroy-Gelb (the studio's co-owner, along with her daughter, Angel) in their state-of-the-art facility in Scottsdale, focuses not only on dance performance and technique, but emphasizes the importance of high self-esteem, teamwork, family values, and even global awareness. While the cases of anorexia, bulimia, school refusal, underachievement, moodiness and family discord are growing among American girls, the "ANGELS" and their qualified and enthusiastic staff are raising money for autism, performing at various bowl games, marching in the Presidential Inaugural Parade, dancing at the White House Easter Egg Roll, travelling to National and even World competitions (and winning top awards!) with each other and their families... they not only learn an "I can do it!" attitude, they learn a "together, we can do ANYTHING!" attitude. Amy Leroy Gelb CONSTANTLY AND CONSISTENTLY provides the students with incredible platforms of exposure and cultivates an atmosphere of healthy discipline, positivity, and love within the studio walls. Nothing less than everyone's personal and professional best is accepted.
Whether Amy is planning a humanitarian mission for the studio to Africa or getting celebrity choreographer Mia Michaels to fly in "real quick" for a master class, one can rest assured that their daughters (or sons!) are receiving THE BEST in terms of dance education, performance opportunities, and personal growth. Every encounter I have both Amy and Angel is beyond inspirational... they have the ability to truly bring out the "angel" in all of us. Arizona Angels comes with my highest recommendations. Sincerely, Joelle Cosentino (Choreographer, Dancer, Film/Television Actress) UCLA BA
