Venom Wins CASL Raleigh Shootout

November 18, 2007 (Raleigh, NC) - The Venom returned home victorious from the CASL Raleigh Shootout in Raleigh, NC winning the Elite Silver Division by beating the North Atlanta NASA '11 Elite Boys (GA) 2-1 in the finals. The first tournament game on Saturday pitted the Venom against the Cincinnati Classics Hammer FC (OH) which ended with the Venom winning 1-0. Later in the day FC America Omni (FL) came out with a 2-0 lead over the Venom before the Venom charged back to win the game 3-2. By day two of the tournament the Venom needed only a tie to move to the finals thus a 0-0 tie against the Bridge Futbol Alliance Bridge FA 92 Gold (SC) sent the Venom into the Finals setting up the match against the North Atlanta NASA '11 Elite Boys (GA).

In addition to tournament play the team was able to watch the 2007 ACC Men's Soccer Championship at the SAS Soccer Complex in Cary on Friday night. While it was quite cold, and the hot chocolate line was so very, very loooong, the guys were able to watch Boston College play Virginia Tech and Wake Forest play North Carolina in the Semifinal Round.
