Mustangs Fall At Holy Cross 46-40

Coach Bob Rowe continues to search for the magic that
seems to have escaped from his magic wand this season, as his JVs lost yet another tough battle 46-40 to the Holy CrossIndians.
In a game of momentum swings, the Indians had the last  one.  The two teams battled to an 8-8 stalemate after a quarter and the Brossart Mustangs took a 18-15 lead at halftime.  The Mustangs were outscored 10-0 out of the locker-room and forced to fight back from a 25-15 deficit and found  themselves trailing 30-27 at the end of the third quarter of play.
Brossart overtook the Tribe at 34-30 with 4:40 to go in the game but Holy  Cross was up to the task, outscoring our Stangs 16-13 in the final eight minutes, to prevail 46-40 as the JV Mustangs drop  their seventh consecutive decision and fall to 1-3 in NKAC Division II competition.
Nick Hanneken and Brian Wolfer combined for 27 of the Mustangs' 40 points, with Hanneken checking in with 15 and Wolfer 12 on the night.  Hanneken also connected on 3 long range 3-point goals.

The Freshmen Mustangs' four game win streak came to an end as the Mustangs lost to the Holy Cross Indians for the second time in less than three weeks as our guys fell behind early at 15-6 in the first period and never recovered, dropping a 35-27 decision.
