Lady 'Stangs Fall To SK 45-35

     In Independence last night...he final score was 45-35 Simon Kenton. The girls played a very competitive game trailing throughout the game by as little as 3 but in the
final 2 minutes of the game the Mustangs received several interesting calls which took the Pioneers up 10 points.
     Nicole Ridder and Lindsay Griffith both put in 12 points while Marie Heeb had 8, Natalie Woeste 2, and Emily Holtz with 1. Jami Bamberger from Simon Kenton led with 18 points.

Lady 'Stangs Leash Lady Bulldogs 37-30

          The Lady ‘Stangs freshmen basketball team beat Holmes in a contest Thursday night at Seither Center by the score of 37-30.

     Brossart started strong outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 7-1 in the first quarter and extended their lead to 11-1 before Holmes made a run just before the half to cut it to 19-13. In the second half Nicole Ridder hit a jumper with 4:30 remaining in the third quarter to make it 24-14 and it looked like this game was history.

     Holmes had other ideas. Nicha Shaw scored the final two of her 10 points with 2:47 remaining and suddenly the Lady Bulldogs were within four at 32-28.

     The Lady ‘Stangs used good fesne though to hold Holmes to just one bucket the rest of the way and held on for the win.

     Ridder had 10, Lindsse Griffith 9 and Marie Heeb 6 to lead the homestanding green and white.

     Brossart hit 13 of 25 from the foul line while Holmes managed just 7 of 20 in a game marred by 41 personal fouls and a technical on Holmes.
