High School Lacrosse Previews

Williams

Coach: Matt Rousseau (3rd year) and Josh Jensen (2nd year)

Key returnees: Jr. G Nate Roy, Sr. A Sam Burd, Sr. D Andrew Ficke, Sr. D Edgard Hunt, Sr. A Chris Schellens.


Top newcomers: Fr. A Wesley Duncan.


Outlook: Williams has made it to the postseason the last two years, but will have to replace Robert Dow, Merrick Smith and Carter Robertson, all members of The Day's All-Area team last spring. The good news is Roy is back and is one of the best goalies this area has ever seen. He has already given a verbal commitment to Hofstra, one of the premier programs in the nation. Roy had 41 saves in the Blues' season-opening loss to Chase Collegiate. Ficke and Hunt will help on defense, while Burd will be counted on to score.
