The Boys from the Blues "A Day At The Rink", Huge Success Eric Nelson - 10/14/2008 The weather on Sunday was clear and sunny with the temperature around 80 degrees, what a great day for the beach right? NO...... It was a great day for skating and fun at Hartmeyer Ice Arena for the annual "Day At The Rink" sponsored by Madison Ice, and the Patriot Hockey Organization. The day was a great success with a rink full of skaters covering all levels, with figure skaters as well as hockey players. During the break in the action, the kids and parents were treated to free hot dogs and popcorn and a choice of soft drinks. One of the highlights of the day is when 4 members of the Madison Blues Hockey Team skated with the kids and helped with the skills and drills competition. Free tickets to the Blues opening game on Oct. 24th, against the West Bend Bombers, were handed out to the kids as well as blow up hockey sticks. What a great way to start the skating season and to bring everyone together for the start of another great season! |
